Summer is always one of those seasons where life has a way of life-ing, and I can never keep up with social media as much as I probably should. 😅
But I had to share this. One of my wonderful clients told me about the most beautiful field full of wildflowers—and the best part? No poison ivy!
It might sound silly, but for someone who, three years ago, didn’t even know what poison ivy was and could run through the woods without thinking twice, this place honestly felt like a little miracle. 😂

And of course, my son wanted absolutely nothing to do with having his picture taken in all that beauty. 🤣

Do you know why I love this kind of documentary, storytelling photography so much?
Because these are real, genuine moments — the ones you truly want to remember.
Because this is you. This is your child. Not the little person standing on command, but the one who feels deeply, enjoys life, gets excited, and is simply their authentic self.
Years from now, when you look back at these photos, you’ll say, “This is how we lived. This is how we enjoyed life. This is how we grew up.” And that’s what it’s all about.
It’s about the emotion a photograph brings back, even years later.
And my younger son has taught me more than anyone to see photography differently — not to wait for the perfect smile, not to expect eye contact on cue, but simply to be present and capture the world as he experiences it. 🤍
