Life is fleeting, beautiful, and most importantly unpredictable and can change in an instance. I learned this at a young age when I lost my grandpa to Alzheimer's and I will never forget the impact he had on my life and the way pictures would light up his eyes even when he was so far away. Even when we couldn't communicate with words, photography spoke volumes for us.

September is here, and I am ready to post again. 💛

Truthfully, August was a heavy month for my heart as a mom. I didn't know what to expect or feel with my daughter starting school, and I really had to take a step back and give myself time to figure it out. When I started this page, I was 19 years old and simply wanted to create art. Now at 31, my goal is to show my daughters the beauty of photography and why it is absolutely necessary to have. I am blessed beyond measure when you trust me to photograph your story, and I just want to make sure I say thank you.

Just like that, I found myself saying, "It's our last week with our big girl before she starts school." 📚✏️ Lil has been by my side since she was born, and I knew this day would come, but it felt like I had all the time in the world. That's the bittersweet thing about parenthood, time sneaks up on you, and before you know it, one chapter is closing and a new one is opening, all without your permission. In the blink of an eye, my newborn baby girl has turned into a big 3 year old who is ready for school and to make new adventures. I am over the moon for her, but my heart is a little heavy as I know I won't always be by her side as we step into this new chapter.

Girlhood is magical. ✨️

I remember seeing Mamma Mia! in theaters in 2008, and when this song came on, I thought it was cute and sweet. When I became a mom, it knocked the breath out of me and I'm still a mess when I hear it. That's kind of the beautiful thing about group family sessions and seeing different generations before my camera. Getting a glimpse of their story and how much they love one another. Truly a beautiful privilege.

If you ever find yourself in a dreamy field and want to take pictures on a cloudy day, my #1 tip is face the sun. How do you find it? Look up in the clouds and spin a circle until you find yourself squinting. 🌞 Facing the sun will create even light and make your background pop.

Madeline and Matthew truly had a perfect day from the jaw dropping details to the sweetest vows. Documenting a love like this is why I'm in this field and I feel blessed beyond measure to do this as a career.
