My husband was reminiscing on our older two boys being little and asked if I miss it. Absolutely I miss every moment of them being chubby little guys. It makes me so sad to see them growing so quickly.
I got an even bigger wave of sadness when I thought about it more. We didn’t know our last two then. I missed them even when they weren’t even a thought at that time. There’s so often I think about life without my boys - it’s never a life so fun or fulfilling. Chaotic, joyful, hectic and invaluable. Parenting encompasses it all, and its feelings id never trade.

I didn’t even know a doula was a thing when I had Victor or Levi! There’s so much I feel like could’ve been different if Ben and I had someone there advocating and educating us! But like most birth workers, my personal experiences shape the way I do things as a Doula! 🙌🏼

I didn’t believe it until after having Judah (my fourth). After having my first three I always knew I wanted more. This time around I believe with my whole heart that our family is complete!

I spent some postpartum time with a client today and I was reminded of my “why”. She teared up when she was telling me how much she appreciated me taking the time to stop for a prayer before she started pushing.

Birth can look so many different ways which is something I’ve learned immensely in the past few months. I want to make everyone feel like their choices are empowered and heard and that their birth can be special in every circumstance.

I just love birth and I’m thankful I can be part of it so often. I hope my passion is clear to everyone on the outside, looking in 🧡
