Rainbow clouds - or cloud iridescence - over the Front Range!!! A relatively rare phenomenon, cloud iridescence occurs because of light diffraction - a phenomenon that occurs when just the right amount of small water droplets or small ice crystals scatter the sun's light. The cloud must be thin and have lots of water droplets or ice crystals of about the same size. As well, the sun must be at just the right angle - at least 58 degrees or more above the horizon. When all these factors come together, you could see the full band of rainbow colors stretch across the sky. Breathtaking!!

Psalm 143: 3 "Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!!!"

Our Pika Adventure! There's just something about these inconspicuous and industrious little creatures!! We spent nearly two hours in the rocks at 12,000 feet and they were so entertaining! My son got some pretty fun photos!! (The pika were less cooperative for me!! haha!) These little guys are an encouraging reminder that our God and Creator cares just as much about the small stuff as he does the big stuff. So, Keep lookin' UP!

"Water Dance" Our youngest son and I were privileged to watch this very attentive cow Moose and her calf 'play' together in a marshy area. Mama would chase the calf and they would run and splash. The baby would fall and the mother would encourage him to get up and keep going!! (I'm sure mama moose was training him life skills, but they looked like they were having so much FUN!!!)
