A sky full of stars still fills me with wonder.

This visit to Big Meadows, Shenandoah NP was long overdue! And even though it was more crowded that I’ve ever see it, I still walked away with my favorite Milky Way photo ever.

The trees I call the Three Sisters, standing quietly in a golden field lit up in moonbeams. Nights like this remind me that even under a full moon, there’s still plenty of wonder left to find.

Speaking of habits, one of mine is I don’t normally include people in my landscapes if I can help it. I feel like these two made the whole layout so much better and were nice enough to hold still for the shot. The fact that they came along to shoot that night made it even better! ✨

Life isn’t a straight line but a series of pivots. Be prepared to pivot, especially if you follow your passions.

I needed a splash of night sky color in my gallery so I’m posting the SAR Arc, almost full moon and faint Milky Way I captured over Luray, Virginia. It took years of trips, stubborn weather, and more failed attempts than I can count to finally get this, but it became a night I’ll never forget.
