I went to college to major in education. At the end of my first year my English professor begged me to consider changing my major to journalism and I just could not for the life of me figure out why I would do that. Would I enjoy it? What would I even write about!? Well, touchƩ. Twenty years later and one of my favorite parts of this little business of mine is getting the chance to share stories through pictures AND words.
This family was scheduled to do pictures with me last fall. The weather was ridiculously unkind and we rescheduled I donāt even know how many times, and finally snow flew and we decided spring was the next best bet. We chose this coming Saturday, it looked beautiful! And then⦠it didnāt. š« We very last minute pivoted our plans and the weather was AMAZING! Not only that, after months of rescheduling and chatting, I felt like we were old friends catching up on life as we wandered around Bethel (where mom went to college!).
ALSO! Iām pretty sure these guys will go down as one of the kindest families Iāve ever captured, they even rehearsed their smiles at homeāyes, dad too!āand those teenage boys didnāt question it for a second when I asked if they would kiss their mamaās cheek! Even little sister was touched by her brothersā love for mom. ā„ļø
I truly have the best job and the families I meet continue to touch my heart in the sweetest ways.
