Pupppppies and announcements. (But mostly pupppppies!) 😍😍😍

I am down to about 3(ish) week day dates left for fall for full sessions.

I can still add a session to:
September 27th - October 3rd.
October 18th - October 24th.
October 25th - October 31st.

🍁 🍂 Those last two weeks are going to be very close to peak fall colors! 🍁 🍂

We also learned a long time ago that as a medical family, sometimes your life and schedule are not your own. We’ve had a shake-up in our appointments that will affect Christmas (in a good way!). Sometime this weekend I’ll be adding some polls to my stories to best determine how I can serve you for holiday photos and I’d love if you would watch for them and weigh in!

Meet Oatmeal (black) & Hashbrown (brown)! 🐾
The sweetest house guests we’ve ever had!

•They’re 13 weeks old.
•Thought to be Chihuahua, miniature pincher and maybe pug (they have curly tails). Let’s just call them small breed dreamboats!
•15-25 pounds full grown.
•Sleeping through the night! 🎉
•Doing well with early potty training.
•OBSESSED with kids.

I shared a sneak in my stories of this young man the other night, but I couldn’t let the week slip by without a true sneak peek! He was a blast, and I loved moseying around New Buffalo with him, his family, and their dog. (If the question is ever “Can I bring my dog?” the answer is always and forever YES!)

I met this cutie pie when she was four and each year her parents let her dream up her birthday photo session. She comes full of ideas, props, and poses and saying yes to all of them is my favorite! 🥰

Finished this sweet girl’s gallery tonight and can’t wait to deliver it to her mama and daddy tomorrow!

We are back from Cincinnati and settling back into home life — balancing some newfound information and some cold germs that were our hospital parting gift. 😂 But we’re happy to be home and excited to be moving into fall photo season!

I have reached out to everyone who contacted me this past week. I think I got everyone, but if you messaged me and haven’t heard back, please shoot me another message!

ALL mini sessions for the remainder of the year will be live for booking on the website Sunday evening! This includes:

• Two days of fall mini sessions
• Tree farm mini sessions (these will be extremely limited, probably 4️⃣ up for grabs)
• Indoor Christmas mini sessions (I posted a sneak of these yesterday in my stories and I am SUPER excited about them)
• Homeschool picture day micro sessions

Our medical calendar is still evolving, so there is a possibility I may add a second day of indoor Christmas minis, but that is still TBD. If you’re hoping for a spot, I’d definitely grab one from the first round!

And of the 10 full September and October sessions I’m offering, seven are still available.

We’re preparing for a medical procedure this week, and I am out of the office until Sunday, August 9th.

If you’re fall and Christmas picture people, the rest of this is for YOU (especially my annual fall and Christmas mini session families)!

Fall: 🍁
I haven’t hidden the fact that I love this business of mine and the relationships I have with all of you, but I am first and foremost a medical mama. And we have a busy fall, medically speaking.

In an effort to give all of you my best and give my family my best, I am only planning to take on 1️⃣0️⃣ full sessions during September and October (essentially one a week). If you think you’re going to want one of these, now would be a great time to reach out or book one through the site.

I also plan to offer two days of fall mini sessions. Loosely, I am planning October 17th and October 24th, but I’ll know more in the weeks to come.

Christmas: 🎄

Christmas mini sessions will be EARLY! this year.

We have pending surgeries on October 5th and November 13th, so I’m choosing to offer them early rather than possibly not offering them at all. If you’re the plan-ahead type, this should be perfect. If you’re a last-minute, “Christmas isn’t until after Thanksgiving” type, you have my sincerest apologies!

• Indoor Minis will be November 1st.
• Tree Farm Minis will be November 7th (rain date November 8th).

These dates are not tentative, and I promise I am prepared to handle all of your post-Halloween sugar-rush kiddos!

After this coming week, August looks pretty “normal” for us, and I expect things to stay relatively normal through the end of September aside from fewer sessions. I will also be touching base with last year’s Small Business Saturday participants to make sure we get your sessions on the calendar.

As promised, family number two from the beach the other night! 🌊

I’ve mentioned before how special it is when families come back again and again, but it’s EXTRA special when families come back from a thousand miles away!

This sweet mama has become a dear friend of mine, but she lives in South Carolina. Every time she comes back to visit family (her mama lives nearby), I get the honor of capturing her and her sweet crew.

We didn’t get to catch up quite as much as we have in the past, but it was still so good to see her and I am forever grateful and humbled by the life and love photography has brought me, and by the friendships that have grown because of it. ♥️

Some people are your cousins, but she has always been more like my sister.

We grew up together. Endless sleepovers, inside jokes, and laughing until we couldn’t breathe. And… not much has changed. If you had been walking behind us on the beach last night, you probably would’ve questioned our sanity as we walked down memory lane. 😂

Her husband has been around since we were kids too, so getting to watch the two of them grow up together has been pretty special. He’s definitely always felt more like family than an in-law. And now here we are, both raising two girls. The sleepovers may have ended, but we’re definitely still laughing until we can’t breathe.

Watching her daughters last night reminded me so much of my own. Her oldest is fiercely protective, always keeping an eye on her little sister. And her youngest looks up to her with that same admiration I see between my own girls. It reminded me that some roots really do stay intertwined, no matter how much life changes.

I had two awesome sessions on the beach last night, and I honestly couldn’t decide which sneak peek to share first. The other one is coming, but this one had about a 30-year head start (am I aging myself!? 😆), so it only seemed fair to let them go first. ♥️

Thank you all again SO much for sharing your furry kiddos with us, for being patient when we fell a few minutes behind towards the end, and most of all for supporting a greater cause of saving them ALL.
