Next up on the Grand Rapids station series is Grand Rapids Station 2 known as the “House of 2’s.” Stationed on the corner of MLK and Ionia.
Station 2 is home of Engine 2, Truck 2, Utility 2, Hazmat 1 and Hazmat 2. Station 2’s specialty is Hazmat, most of the members assigned to the house have a variety of Hazmat training and certifications. Utility 2 is stationed there and is the departments blocker unit and responds to all incidents on the highway to act as a buffer and provide traffic blocking for crews operating on the highway. Station 2 use to be one of the so called “Super stations” back in the day when Engine 7, Engine 10, and Truck 2 use to be stationed there. Station 2 continues to be a very busy station serving the south side of downtown and Southside of Grand Rapids.
Engine 2 was the third busiest Engine in GR last year running a total of 2,814 alarms. Truck 2 ran a total of 1,284 alarms, Utility 2 ran 677 alarms and the hazmats ran an estimated total of 35ish combined calls in 2025.

Truck Company 2: 2020 Pierce Velocity 100ft Rear-Mount Platform with a 2000 GPM pump and a 300 gallon water tank and 20 gallon foam tank.
Utility 2: 2025 International Custom built traffic blocking unit with Attenuator trailer.
Hazmat 1: 2005 Spartan Advantage Walk Around style Hazmat unit.
Hazmat 2: 2012 Ram 5500/ HME Ahrens Fox QRV.
