Seeking Joy in Every Season: 12-Week Devotional and Journal (Seeking Series)

10/17/2024

Copied from a friends post:

Something to ponder ••••
The next time you use the phrase “Oh my God”, or just using the word “God” in a frivolous or a common way is actually dishonoring God. God’s name is special because it carries his personal identity. Using it frivolously or in a curse is so common today that we may fail to realize how serious it really is. The way we use God’s name conveys how we really feel about him. We should respect his name and use it appropriately, speaking it in praise or worship rather than in curse or jest. We should not take lightly the abuse or dishonor of his name.

My remarks:
I share this because we need to remember that God’s name is holy, and we should never use his name so disrespectfully.

Deuteronomy 5:11
“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain.”

After getting certified as a trauma-informed coach with Freedom Movement, Phylis has specialized in the mother-daughter wound of dysfunction. Through her six-week course “Patience & Grace” Coaching, she leads women to be more confident in feeling God’s love for them, freeing them from the false narratives that have been spoken over them by broken and dysfunctional mothers.

Phylis is not only a trauma-informed coach but also a podcaster and author of Unmothered: Life with a Mom Who Couldn’t Love Me.

She is an inspirational speaker at churches, retreats, conventions, Celebrate Recovery groups, and Rotary Clubs, and is currently writing her second book on lessons about breaking generational dysfunction.

Phylis is a graduate of the Christian Communicators Conference, is a Certified LINKED Personality Coach, and is a certified trauma-informed coach with Freedom Movement.

Phylis loves helping women reach their full, God-given potential despite their trauma-filled past.

Her Story:

Can God still love you when you choose not to listen to His path? Does He give you second chances, even where divorce is concerned? Watch what He can do in the life of a young girl who messes up but still has a mustard seed of faith to make it right.

Ya’ll it’s coming. I’m so excited to be apart of this team. 30 short stories of life battles and then God provides away in each story. I pray that if only one story spoke to you that you know you are not alone and Jesus steps in and touches your heart with encouragement.

Our Spotlight author of the day for Strength in the Storm is Jackie Hayden!

Jackie Hayden has walked through battles and come out on fire for the Lord. She is a women’s speaker, author, and Bible teacher. She loves to share encouraging messages with other minister’s wives and women from all walks of life.

In her spare time, you can find her looking through the lens of a camera, capturing special moments, living life with her husband, Ellis, who is a pastor, and enjoying her family and friends. Her Yorkie, Willow, is the princess of the home, and Jackie loves her fiercely.

Jackie is a Texas woman teaching women all about Jesus.

Hey Girl,
The other day, I shared a story about salt and sugar.
I decided to be a good wifey and fill up my husband’s sugar cup to take to work to his office for his coffee.

I filled the little container, put it in his bag and send them on his way.
About an hour later, he asked me to taste what was in that container that I sent with him.
I thought to myself it was sugar but then I suddenly remembered I had refilled that jar with salt.

You can imagine what 2 teaspoons of salt might do to your coffee?

That sipp could not be spewed out of his mouth fast enough.

Do our lives in Christ make a difference? When you are seen can others see Jesus in you?

Don’t be Salty with negative words. Be the preservative that saves what God has taught us.

Be the salt of the earth and preserve Gods truth.

Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Sugar and salt looks so much alike, but they have different uses.
Both are good when used properly.
Be the salt to preserve the good, true elements of humanity as God created us as we need to follow His commandments and love each other as God loves us.

Hey Girl,
I am walking this out myself. Let’s do it together.
Have a sweet day. You are loved by Jesus and me.

it’s been a while since I’ve been on this page, but you know there is eye candy all around us.
It’s creation that God has given us the beauty that we each behold, is special to each one of us what we see causes memories in those memories.
Bring other memories.
God is such a gracious God. He gives us these things to relax, and to remind that he is the one in control.
Be aware of God’s creation and things around you, people around you, family around you and ministering opportunities that God gives.
Go out and be warriors for him.
