still trying to get over this one...
i was recently asked to capture this sweet proposal. he wanted to plan a session for his girlfriend and their ADORABLE puppy (see him at the end!), but really, he wanted to pop the question. we chatted through our ideas and the time came to execute. i told him after they did sitting photos in this particular shaded spot is when i would set them up for the moment.
right before i was getting them in place for the big moment, they noticed a monarch butterfly. i asked them what the significance behind the butterfly was. they had shared with me they recently lost a very close friend a few weeks ago due to a car accident. i was already familiar with the situation as this young man's loss significantly impacted our community in Genoa. they shared their friend had been showing them a lot of signs lately, specifically with seeing monarch butterflies. there wasn't a better time to for this moment to happen.
when it did, it was so sweet and full of love. our plan executed perfectly 🥹 the best part was when they together realized that their friend was there with them the whole time. the story couldn't have been written any better but let's be honest, i think their friend had eyes on the plan the entire time.
i'm so happy for this sweet couple and am so thankful that i was able to capture these truly special moments for them. this is one that i know i won't be able to forget! 💛
