Ga***rd was looking for the district championship trifecta today in their baseball final vs Petoskey after the softball and soccer teams took districts over the Northmen, but Petoskey was looking to send its district championship streak in baseball to 7-straight years, and they pulled that off with 2-runs in the top of the 7th to defeat the Blue Devils by a 4-2 score today at Ga***rd High School. What a great game. Petoskey up 2-0, with the Blue Devils cutting it to 2-1, and then tied it at 2-2 in the 5th inning I think it was. Petoskey in the top of the 6th had a runner on 3rd with 0 outs, and Ga***rd was able to shut that down, but the 7th was a different story. Petoskey loaded the bases with 0 outs, and a beautiful bunt plated the winning run, and a short chooper mis handled by Ga***rd scored another for the Northmen, who then closed out Ga***rd in the bottom of the 7th stranding one runner. This was a really good high school baseball game. I had no players to cover, but really wanted to see this one, so it gave me the freedom to take whatever photos I wanted to of the action. Here are the better ones in this post......so much was about the emotion of the game. Congrats to Petoskey and Ga***rd for entertaining a large crowd today.
