I am such a sucker for a profile shot. 🥹 There’s just something about capturing those sweet little features from the side that gives them so much more depth. The tiny details that can sometimes get lost in a straight-on portrait.

I’ve had so many cake smash sessions lately, and honestly, they are SO much fun. You really get the best of both worlds, the timeless traditional portraits first, followed by all the giggles, smiles, and messy fun that comes with letting them dig into their cake.

The sweetest way to celebrate one whole year. 🤍

I generally lean toward outfits that are lighter and brighter, think soft creams, warm browns, and those beautiful neutral family tones. Black can sometimes feel like such a stark contrast in the White Studio.

But this family has me absolutely gushing over their images in black. 🤎🖤

There is something so striking about sweet baby girl against the depth of dad’s dark shirt. The contrast, the tones, the way she just pops from the image… I am loving every bit of it.

And that black and white version 🫠 S T R I K I N G.

It’s hard to grasp just how tiny a newborn is... until she’s resting in her dad’s hands. Suddenly, it becomes the perfect reminder of just how little she is. So small. So loved. 🤍

Long time, no see! 🤍

Life has been wonderfully busy lately, and I’ve been making a conscious effort to prioritize my own health and wellness. That has meant spending a little less time on social media and a little more time taking care of myself.

One of my favorite photos of my own son as a newborn is a simple image of my husband holding him in our family room. Nothing elaborate or perfectly posed, just the two of them.

Honestly, that memory is a huge part of why I choose to offer family-focused newborn sessions instead of posed baby-only sessions. There is such a special perspective that comes from documenting your baby in the arms of the people who love them most. The scale of how tiny they truly are. The connection. The love. The way these moments actually felt.

Every time I photograph a dad holding his brand new baby, I’m instantly taken back to that memory. There’s just something about seeing a newborn in their father’s arms that puts into perspective how impossibly little they are in those first few days.

I genuinely can’t get over how stunning these women are! Getting to photograph them in ‘s studio, styled from her client wardrobe, was just unreal 😍 It was such an incredible experience capturing these moments during last week’s workshop, and I’m still soaking it all in.

There’s so much more beauty from these sessions to share, and I even have some workshop newborn images coming soon too… just wait 🥹

I walked away from this experience with so much knowledge and inspiration, and I’m so excited to start bringing everything I learned into the sessions I’m creating in my own studio ✨
