For be first year in a LONG time I am not celebrating world breastfeeding week as a breastfeeding mama but I couldn’t let it pass without celebrating the 5 daughters and 12 collective years I spent nursing my babies. It wasn’t always easy but what a privilege it was to be able to feed my babies from my body. A gift I’ll never take for granted.

For the first summer in 7 years my fingers aren’t constantly caked with dirt. My mornings aren’t being spent with the bees, butterflies and hummingbirds while I water before the sun is too high in the sky. My tables aren’t filled with jars of fresh cut flowers and I don’t have calendula, yarrow and borage drying all over the house. For the first summer in 7 years I don’t have a garden waiting for me to tend to her. Which also means I don’t have a garden waiting to tend to me.
A garden who has held me through so many seasons.
A garden who has gifted me so much wisdom
And a garden who has taught me that it is ok to slow down, to be patient with the process, to listen to my intuition, to take a break, to REST and to trust that the next season will be the best one yet.
