Some seniors want the perfect outfit, the perfect location, and the perfect pose.

Selah brought a sketchbook, a guitar, and herself.

We wandered around downtown Fredericksburg finding little pockets of inspiration, chasing good light, and making space for the things she loves. My favorite part of this session wasn’t a location or an outfit—it was getting to photograph someone exactly as she is in this season of life.

Senior year feels both impossibly far away and right around the corner all at once, and I loved getting to document a little piece of who Selah is right now.

Kirsten and Robert’s wedding day at Belle’s Pleasure in Fredericksburg, Virginia was full of sweet moments, joyful celebration, and the kind of love that feels REAL.

At one point during the day, I told Kirsten she was precious. She smiled and immediately replied, “That’s what Robert calls me.” After watching the way these two looked at each other all day, I completely understood why.

From the beautiful garden-inspired florals to the waterside ceremony and the sweetest moments shared with family and friends, every part of their day reflected who they are together: kind, joyful, and deeply in love.

Kirsten and Robert, thank you for trusting me to document such a beautiful beginning. Wishing you a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and continued devotion to one another. ❤️

Old Town Alexandria showed off for us on this one. ☀️

Emily and Andrew brought Athena and Teddy along for their engagement session, and between the cobblestone streets, waterfront views, and perfect spring weather, it felt like the ideal way to close out May.

One of my favorite things about photographing couples is watching the little dynamics you can’t fake. Emily’s laugh is absolutely contagious, and Andrew never stopped looking at her like she was his favorite person in the world. The kind of love that feels steady, easy, and completely at home.

A special thank you to Emily’s sister, Katherine, for being the MVP of dog duty so we could sneak away for a few portraits while Athena and Teddy took a well-earned break. 🐾

Some sessions deserve more than a handful of photos.

We hiked in what started as a beautiful afternoon that turned into a full-blown mountain thunderstorm. By the time we reached the summit, rain was falling, temperatures were dropping, and Elizabeth was covered in goosebumps.

And yet…

These are some of my favorite maternity photographs I’ve ever taken.

Liz told me she feels closest to God on the mountaintop. It was on these mountains where so many of His promises became “yes and amen” in her life, and now she and Micah are preparing to welcome their sweet baby boy into the world.

What could have been a session ruined by weather became something far more meaningful.

Wild.
Honest.
Emotional.
Beautiful.

And if I’m being honest, this one deserved the full carousel.

Happy Friday 🤍

Rainy days have me leaning into my favorite things lately… staying home, cozy corners, coffee, and a good book.

The older I get, the more I’m realizing that energy and time feel a little like photographs. You can’t keep every frame, so you start becoming more intentional about what you spend them on.

I still love people deeply. I love making people laugh, helping them feel at ease, and creating spaces where they can simply be themselves. That part of me hasn’t changed. But I’m learning that not every moment needs to be filled, and not every ounce of energy has to be given away.

Maybe slowing down isn’t becoming less people-oriented. Maybe it’s just becoming more intentional.

Now tell me… rainy day plans: staying in with a book or heading out anyway? ☕📖

Currie and David at The Atrium at Meadowlark.

The kind of wedding day that changed every fifteen minutes. Soft rain. Heavy clouds. Bright sun breaking through the trees like it had somewhere important to be.

David trembled before the ceremony and settled almost instantly the second Currie was in his arms.
