Been searching for these words all summer. We only met three times, but boy were those moments special.

Kate had that rare gift of making instant, meaningful connections with people wherever she went... the kind of person who made you feel like you’d known her much longer than you actually had.

I’ll never forget the joy beaming from her face the first time she came to our home studio a year ago. Or the excitement in her voice when she reached out to help plan a surprise birthday shoot for her cousin this winter. Or the pride and joy in her texts this spring as she shared the video of her college graduation speech.

In that speech, she challenged her classmates with three simple ideas:

Choose joy.
Show up.
Build hope.

Those weren’t just words she spoke. They were the very things I saw reflected in her life each time I had the privilege of crossing her path... the fertile soil for a life full of quiet miracles, everywhere she went.

Full of joy.
Full of excitement.
Full of life, love, and hope.

I’m grateful our paths crossed, and grateful for the example she leaves behind.

In honor of Kate’s remarkable life, I will be gifting copies of her book, “A Thousand Quiet Miracles” to TCU students throughout the coming year. My hope is that many more people will be encouraged and inspired by the same joy, hope, and faith she so beautifully lived.

Hard to believe I’m celebrating another lap around the sun today.

This year has been full of surprises… bringing some of the highest highs and some of the lowest lows. Through it all, one thing has remained constant: God’s faithfulness never fails.

One of my mentors, Brent, asks me a single question every time we talk: “How’s your heart?” Today, my heart is incredibly grateful… for the people God has placed in my life, the lessons He’s been teaching me, and the privilege of getting to do work I genuinely love.

Here’s to another year of trusting Him one day at a time. There’s so much to be thankful for!

Been off the grid the past 8 weeks enjoying all the beauty summer has had to offer, including:

📸: hosting photographers from around the country
👋: “see ya soon” coffees with Class of 26 friends
🚗: road trips to Oklahoma to team up with past reps
🍦: ice cream at Salt & Straw with friends
✈️: visiting my childhood home with Mom
🐸: supporting friends’ new businesses
🌮: back yard dinner parties with friends
👰🏾‍♀️: hosting bridal showers for friends
⚽️: soccer. lots and LOTS of soccer!!!
