Planning a wedding comes with a lot of questions.

One of the biggest ones couples ask me is about wedding photography pricing.

Why does one photographer charge $900… while another charges $5,000 or more?

It’s a fair question. And honestly, it can feel really confusing when you’re just trying to plan your day and make good decisions.

So I put together a guide that walks through what actually affects the cost of wedding photography in Fort Wayne, what couples are really paying for, and how to choose coverage that fits your celebration.

If you’re newly engaged or in the middle of planning, this should help make things a little clearer.

I FULLY agree with this…except on your wedding day. 😂🫠 No one wants to look back at their wedding photos and think “what was I mad about?” ❤️

During Millie Bobby Brown’s appearance at the Stranger Things season 5 premiere in London on Thursday, Brown was posing when a photographer yelled out to her, “Smile!”

“Smile? You Smile!" she quickly retorted while pointing to the group of photographers.

AND I COULDN’T APPLAUD HER MORE.

Don’t tell a woman to smile.
It’s degrading.
It sends the message that her expression exists to make someone else comfortable, that she should perform even when she doesn’t feel it, that she owes the world a pleasant face instead of being allowed to simply be.

Women deserve autonomy.
They deserve to take up space with their real emotions.
They don’t exist to brighten someone’s moment or fulfill an expectation.

Respect women enough to let them live their truth.
Women don’t owe ANYONE anything. 👏

OKAY OKAY — I have to say this!! 😅

Editing Lauren + Firas’ fall wedding has me crying all over again. The love, the colors, the way they looked at each other — are you kidding me?? Pure magic. 🍂✨

But their day also reminded me of something I’ve learned after 11 years as a wedding photographer:

I don’t want to shoot weddings for my close friends or family anymore.

I’ve done it. I’ve loved doing it. But I’ve realized — when I deeply love the people getting married, I can’t turn off the emotions enough to focus fully behind the camera. I’m crying, I’m running timelines, I’m trying not to miss moments while also emotionally spiraling. 😂

You deserve your photographer 100% focused.
And I deserve to be your friend — crying, cheering, and dancing with you, not working.

Lauren + Firas gave me the gift of showing up purely as a photographer — and it shows in every frame. So much love, and so much trust. 💛

Alright, so here’s the thing—when you look at this photo, you might think, “Oh wow, that must’ve been easy. Everyone’s smiling, the lighting is perfect, it’s all so put together.”

No. No, my friend. What you’re seeing here is a miracle wrapped in love and held together by deep, unshakable photography skills. Because this isn’t just a photo. This is four generations—great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, kids, and great-grandkids—all showing up in the same place, at the same time, looking in roughly the same direction.

We’re talking babies on hips, toddlers who’ve decided today is their running day, parents trying to bribe with snacks, grandparents sharing proud smiles, and me—standing there in Foster Park like a slightly over-caffeinated orchestra conductor, yelling “LOOK HERE!” and “YES, HOLD THAT SMILE!” and somehow… somehow… freezing a moment where everyone’s hearts line up just right.

And honestly? I love every single bit of it. The chaos, the love, the way you can actually feel the history in this photo. Because at the end of the day, this is what matters—capturing not just faces, but the generations of stories they hold.

They’re not “just pets”—they’re family.

Sessions like this are my favorite. The kind where dogs are panting happily at your feet, toddlers are giggling on stone walls, and love is woven into every single frame.

I have such a deep love for including pets in family photos—because they’re part of your story too.

They’ve been there through so many seasons. They’ve comforted you, grown alongside your children, and made your home feel like home. One day, you’ll look back and be so grateful they’re in the photos too.

This session had everything I cherish most:
Natural light
Real connection
Carefree joy
And two very good pups stealing hearts

If you’re wondering if you can bring your dog(s) to your family session, the answer is always yes. Bring a leash, some treats, and let’s make space for your full story—fur and all.

Family + Pet sessions include 60 minutes at one location, an online gallery, and full print release for $400. Fall dates go quickly, so don’t wait to book yours.

Because the best stories are the ones where everyone gets to be seen.

I wanted to share a few more moments from this beautiful family session... because honestly, it was just too full of love not to.

What made this session extra special?
Jamison—their oldest son—reached out to book it as a gift. He wanted to give his family the chance to be documented together. Not posed and perfect, but just as they are—connected, playful, present.

There was laughter and dancing. Wind-blown hair and real hugs. The girls spun in the grass like wildflowers, and mom and dad shared the kind of look that says, we’ve built something beautiful here.

You don’t need a milestone to deserve family photos.
You don’t need a reason beyond right now.

This session reminded me: the greatest gift we can give is the space to slow down and see each other. That’s what these photos are—a reminder of who we are in this season. And how lucky we are to be doing it together.

Show up as you are. That’s where the magic lives.

When people ask me how to prepare for a session, I always want to say: don’t worry so much about perfect. Matching outfits and brushed hair are great—but what I really want to capture is your right now.

This family didn’t overthink it. They showed up as themselves—silly, sweet, sarcastic, loving—and that’s exactly what made their photos feel so full of life.

There were belly laughs. There were silly dances and sibling jokes. There were moments where everything just clicked—not because it was perfect, but because it was real.

And just when I thought the day couldn’t get more special, one of the girls said,
“Can I take a photo of you?”
Because as she put it, “You should have photos too.”
Cue me making the goofiest face and loving every second of it.

This is your reminder:
You don’t have to wait for “perfect” to book family photos.

You don’t need everyone to behave or every detail to go just right.

You just need to show up and love on your people.

The now is worth remembering.

This fall family session was everything I love about photographing the season—warm light, genuine laughter, and the kind of little moments that matter most.

These four were a dream. The outfits, the colors, the energy—it all came together beautifully. Big sister brought so much personality, and baby sister gave us those soft, sweet moments that tug at your heart. There’s something so special about capturing families as they are right now—before the next season begins, before they grow just a little bit more.

Your family doesn’t need to be perfect. You just need to show up and be present. I’ll handle the rest—guiding you through the session while capturing the real connections, the in-between smiles, and the joy in the chaos.

Fall sessions are booking fast, and spots are limited. If you’re hoping for that golden light and those rich autumn tones, now is the time to reach out.
