Permission slip to not invite your parents coworkers or your great uncle to your wedding on the oregon coast lol

I know how fast a guest list grows. One minute you’re talking about 30 people and the next you’re adding coworkers, plus ones, distant cousins, people you feel obligated to invite because they invited you once, etc etc.

This is your reminder you can choose the friends who show up for your random Tuesday dinners, your siblings and parents, the couple you take trips with. The people who actuallyyyyy know your relationship.

Rent a house on the coast or book a stunning Oregon wedding venue meant for 50 guests or less. Set one long table instead of twenty rounds. Have dinner that feels like a dinner party with your people. Actually sit down and talk to everyone without a timeline living in the back of your mind!!

Because at the end of the day this is about marrying your person, and choosing to celebrate how you want and if that means gathering the people who matter most and letting the ocean be the backdrop, then that’s perfect in my book.

Lily & Riley’s fall elopement in Ouray, Colorado

If you come to me with a flexible date and want fall vibes I will 100% be trying to convince you to elope between late September and early October. It’s just suuuuch a good time of year. This is a sign from the universe that your oregon coast wedding can be a full experience, not just one day you’re trying to squeeze everything into.

Because a lot of traditional wedding planning is built around a single day timeline and it fills up reallllllllll fast. Getting ready, ceremony, fam photos, dinner, dancing, and boom suddenly you’re realizing there’s barely any time to actually be with your people or even have a moment alone together.

And if you’re someone who values connection and being present, you can already feel how tight that’s going to be before it even happens.

Hi, I’m Rach, and I film Oregon weddings on Super 8 for couples who care deeply about how it felt!!

Super 8 has this way of hitting you in the chest with immediate nostalgia unlike anything else. The light is warm and hazy, the movement isn’t perfectly sharp, there’s grain and light leaks. When you press play it feels less like “watching a video” and more like falling back into a moment.

That’s the part people don’t expect, it’s nostalgic immediately like something you’ve already owned for years, like rewatching your memories in real time.

An evening spent on Agate Beach

We came here the very first night we moved to the Oregon Coast, and it’s become the place we end up over and over again for walks, sunsets, bonfires, or just because we have nowhere else we need to be.

Last Thursday gave us one of those sunsets that just kept getting better after the sun disappeared. The colors!!! The glow!!! I brought my camera for once and took what might be my favorite photo of the year (slide 13).

Agate Beach has been at the heart of Newport’s surf culture since the 1960s, when a small group of local surfers helped build a community that’s still going strong today. I love learning the history of the places we spend so much time in, and knowing that generations of people have been coming to this same stretch of coastline to catch waves and just enjoy it makes it that much more special.

Feeling pretty lucky to call this place home.

Just imagine your beautiful Oregon coast wedding weekend filmed on nostalgic Super 8 film! Annnnnnnd before you tell me you don’t want a wedding video, hear me out.

Most of the couples who end up booking Super 8 with me aren’t searching for videography, they’re looking for a way to hold onto a feeling.

Consider this my application to be your Oregon elopement videographer — hiiiiiiiii, I’m Rach and I make wedding videos for people who never really thought they wanted a wedding video!!

Maddy + Daniel’s elopement was a relaxed day in the mountains built around some of their fav things, with a lil ceremony mixed in there of course. Maddy had THREE wedding dresses: her grandma’s, Daniel’s mom’s, and her own. One for each location, plus a cutie little thrifted bonus dress for everything in between.

Truly one of the most fun + beautiful elopements I’ve gotten to be a part of, and I had the greatest time making their video. Once I started working on it, it low key felt like the whole thing just flowed right out of my soul hahah

I fell so deeply in love with Super 8 because it feels less like traditional wedding videography and more like the home videos so many of us grew up watching. A lil imperfect, grainy and sooooo nostalgic it somehow drops you right back into a day that’s already passed.

Mix that with a bit of digital video and oooooof it’s the perfect blend.

Soooooo if you’re planning an Oregon wedding or Pacific Northwest elopement and you’ve been saying, “we don’t really need a wedding video”… I have a feeling you’re exactly my kind of people.

Lily & Riley get married in the San Juans todayyyyy!!

After more than a year of planning their wedding day + yapping (and looking at each other’s pets) over screens lol, we finally got to hang out in person in August for their engagement photos

They told me they wanted their photos to feel like the song “Wide Open Spaces,” so naturally we drove down a dirt road, found a big open field to run around in, and took photos with the car they were riding in together when Riley asked Lily to date

Today’s gonna be sooooo good, I love when my couples take me out to Ouray & Telluride for their wedding day 💌
