Jessica & Raven’s wedding film intro, shot entirely on Super 8 💫

I genuinely don’t know if I have the words for this!! What an incredible day to be a part of.

Two couples trusted their vendor team with complete creative freedom. A group of humans came together to celebrate q***r love, create something equal part beautiful and meaningful, and build a wedding day rooted in community, joy, and inclusivity.

This was one of those days that reminds you why this work matters. Why representation matters.

There is so much more to say and even more to show, but for now here’s a glimpse into Jessica & Raven’s day! Thank you J&R for trusting us to create for you.

And of course a massive thank you to the entire vendor team. Creating alongside all of you was an absolute joy!

Super 8 postcards from The Cabins at Blacktail

Coming in with a sign from the universe that your wedding can be a relaxed experience, not just one day you’re trying to squeeze everything into!!

It’s like the second you start planning everything kinda pushes you toward this one jam packed day where you’re expected to fit every meaningful moment, convo, hug, and every part of your relationship into a timeline that moves wayyyyy too fast.

What if you created an experience where it wasn’t like that? An experience where your wedding has more space, and you have more time with your people that doesn’t feel rushed, time for just the two of you without an audience, time where you’re not being pulled into a million directions at once.

That could look like a wedding weekend where everyone is together in one place, sharing meals, being outside, hanging out instead of just showing up for a ceremony and leaving. A weekend where we carve out some space for just the two of you, for private vows or to do something you love.

This is really just a reminder that you’re allowed to want more than a single day!! Annnnnnnd it doesn’t make it excessive, it just means you want the time to actually experience it.

Hi I’m Rach and I’m going to turn your wedding video into a nostalgic home video you want to watch over and over and over.

I primarily work with Super 8 film because there’s just something about it that feels alive in a way digital will never fully replicate. The grain, softness, tiny imperfections, and the way light blooms beautifully!!

It feels like pressing play on a memory and it hits you in the chest with nostalgia, it’s your very own beautiful moving time capsule! Your Super 8 wedding video is something you’ll throw on someday on a random Tuesday night years from now and suddenly be right back there hearing your friends laugh in the background, seeing your partner’s expression during vows, feeling the sunlight coming through the trees and you’ll see everyone a little younger and just feel how your life felt wide open in that specific way it did right then.

That nostalgic, emotional feeling is way more important to me than creating something that feels trendy or overly cinematic like a weird perfume commercial or something lol. I want your film to feel timeless in the way old home videos do.

I think “small” gets tied to guest count, like fewer people must mean less energy, less excitement, less of a celebration but being at these weddings all the time, that’s honestly not what they feel like at all.

When your guest list is made up of the people who are actually a part of your life, the people who know your relationship and have seen you through different versions of yourselves, the ones who show up for you on the day to day, everything just feels more connected and full. And it’s really a magical energy to be swept up in.

There’s more room for your people to settle in, more time to actually talk to everyone, and space for the day to unfold instead of feeling like you’re trying to keep up with it the entire time and somehow that always makes the emotions feel even bigger too.

Micro weddings actually always feel really f*cking big to me. Big in the energy, feeling, and the experience of it all.

Just not in headcount.

Daydreaming of Crested Butte in the summertime. Winding dirt roads weaving through the valleys and high above town, lupines blooming across the hillsides, dust kicking up behind your tires as the sun dips low. Everything feels golden and hazy in a nostalgic surreal way. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to pull over for a while, sit, and just take in the wonder of it all while feeling beautifully, impossibly small.

Everything looks like it’s built for a very specific version of a wedding. And maybe that’s just not what you want.

You don’t need a giant venue to justify gathering your people. Sometimes that unsettling feeling while scrolling is just your gut saying you want something more intentional, smaller and more connected.

Beautiful micro wedding venues exist. Intimate wedding weekends exist. Private vows tucked into the mountains before dinner with your people exist.

I feel like so many couples planning an elopement or wedding get stuck in this weird gray area. You love the idea of private vows in the mountains, just the two of you, but you also don’t actually want to get married without your people there. And somehow the internet makes it feel like you have to pick one, when you totally don’t.

Your wedding can absolutely start with just the two of you. Something like sunset vows at an alpine lake or insane overlook. A whole dedicated moment thats fully yours.

And then you meet up with your people to celebrate. Maybe it’s 15 guests or 50. Maybe it’s a full on wedding weekend at a cabin in the mountains. You could even have a short ceremony so everyone feels included, dinner and dancing under the string lights.

That’s the magic of planning an intentional experience instead of defaulting to what’s on Pinterest or trending online. You don’t have to choose one extreme or the other, you can separate the experiences. Private and sacred // celebratory and communal. There really are no rules here unless you decide there are!! The middle ground exists, it just takes a little creativity and permission to do it differently.

Annnnnnd everything just feels easier in a way that’s kind of hard to explain until you’re living it, like you wake up and your people are already there, and you’re just existing inside this really full, really good moment with the people you actually want around!

Maybe at some point you sneak away together and read your vows some place quiet where it’s just the two of you, saying the things you’ve been holding onto and actually feeling it all instead of trying to keep it together in front of a crowd.

The best part is the day kind of just unfolds, and the night turns into stories and stories turn into everyone talking over each other and someone grabbing another drink and you dancing in the kitchen or outside under the sky and at some point you look around and realize this is exactly what you wanted, not something you felt like you had to do, but something you truly chose. The best part is you actually remember it, like the whole thing, not just pieces in between stress or expectations or rushing around trying to keep up with a timeline, but the feeling of the weekend, the way it moved, and the way it felt to be there together.

Caroline & Daya BOTH said yes in Aspen, CO

Caroline reached out with the plan to propose at John Denver Sanctuary, one of their fav, go to spots in town. It started as a simple walk, then a yes on the bridge, happy tears, and a lot of “omg look at that ring!!!”

Somewhere between there and the gondola, we turned a corner and ran into their family who just so happened to have the second ring. Truly the most accidental, perfect, magical, unplanned timing.

We made our way up Aspen Mountain, freezing and windy, and Daya whispers to me, “I have a ring too… I’m doing it.” And she did. More tears, more disbelief, just pure yes yes yes.

One of those days that feels absolutely unreal and filled the brim with so much love and joy.

Your Colorado wedding doesn’t have to be a bunch of people you haven’t seen in 10 years. It can be the people who support you every day and that’s it.

I know how fast a guest list grows. One minute you’re talking about 30 people and the next you’re adding coworkers, plus ones, distant cousins, people you feel obligated to invite because they invited you once.

This is your reminder you can choose the friends who show up for your random Tuesday dinners, your siblings and parents, the couple you take trips with, and the people who actually know your relationship.

Book a small Colorado wedding venue meant for 50 guests or less. Set one long table instead of twenty rounds. Have dinner that feels like a dinner party with your people.

Because at the end of the day this is about marrying your person, and choosing to celebrate how you want and if that means just gathering the people who matter most then that’s perfect.
