First-year events are always a gamble.

Just got back from the Backcountry Offroad Expo in Castle Rock and it was a solid show. More overland vans than traditional off-road rigs, which is a fun change from the heavy offroad community.

Good people, good music, food truck food, and a few conversations that made the visit worth it.

If you’re into the overland and adventure space, this expo hits a few locations throughout the summer. Worth putting on your radar.

Staying connected in the backcountry with GMRS radios to coordinate with the team for the perfect shot. When you’re miles from cell service, clear communication makes all the difference between capturing the moment and missing it entirely. Whether you’re shooting content, guiding clients, or exploring new terrain communication is so important.

Mud on the tires, camera in hand, and a trail full of women proving they belong out here. 🤙

This weekend, Aspen Creative Co headed down to Hot Springs Off-Road Park in Arkansas with the Midwest Jeepthing crew for the 9th Annual Chicks in the Sticks — an event built to celebrate and empower women in off-roading.

We offered mini photo sessions on-site to capture the moments these women deserve to have documented. The grit. The grin after conquering a trail. The community built out in the sticks, miles from a cell signal.

But honestly? We didn’t just show up to shoot. We got in the Jeep and hit the trails too. Because that’s the only way to truly tell this story.
