Cloud Peak Summit - 13,171 ft

Checked off another tough trail adventure this summer and brought Landon Hansch along for his first summit push ever, dude crushed it.

We left town at 3:30am, got to the trailhead at 6:30am and then jammed the 24.5 miles + 6824 ft of gain in 9hrs 22min back to the trailhead.

Spent most of the early miles running but the climb and navigating the boulder field ended up being pretty rowdy (like everyone said it would).

Enjoyed some rain, wind, hard-earned-views and a GIANT sub sandwich at the top before making the trek back down (the worst part on our old man knees).

All-in-all this made for one hell of a day with some great views and even better company🤘

30 | Ironman Training | Life Well Lived

Last slide:

As one decade ends and another begins, I find myself reflecting on my twenties: times full of my wildest dreams, biggest adventures, and greatest losses. Life well lived. I am blown away by how fast it all went, though to be fair... I was warned. Now sometimes when I see a kid just trying to figure it all out, I toss out a "it goes fast" just to carry the torch.

A few short lessons my 20s taught me:

1) Buy the camera.
2) Do hard things.
3) Life can change really fast.
4) Max out that Roth IRA.

The last 10 years brought with them a mausoleum of failures that occasionally rattle in my chest when I'm trying to sleep... but I don't mind the company. There are also corkboards & hard drives full of my favorite memories from the past decade, which are really just photos of the people I shared them with.

In many ways today feels like the closing of a chapter, one I'm endlessly grateful for. For the adventures, love, grief, lessons, places and people who were part of it. Looking back I can say that I'm proud of the man I've become... which is really all 20-year-old me could've really hoped for. Today also marks the start of a new chapter. One hopefully filled with a bit more wisdom, a bit more humility, and a bit more warming up before fitness.

So I guess all that's left is... forward.

Frames from fastpacking 80 miles across the Wind River High Route

Couldn't of asked for a better group of dudes to spend 3 days adventuring through the mountains with. This highline trail is no joke... 16,000+ feet of gain, 12-14hr days, dozens of snow and creek crossings, along with some tough high alpine passes.

A deep lack of sleep + a head/chest cold made this adventure extra interesting.. but the coveted views, rowdy company and shared memories were a notch above special. Pumped I'll have these to look back on for the rest of my life.

Of course big s/o to the legend Jeremy Miller for organizing this trip, can't wait for the next adventure🤘

my favorite (local) adventures

Casper has always been the perfect place to do the things I love, like:

rock climbing in Fremont Canyon
stargazing on the mountain
shredding at
catching the Northern lights
trail racing at skunk hollow

and it has been such an honor working with .casper on their campaign over the last couple of months, highlighting my favorite parts about living here and why it's so important we keep supporting our local tourism efforts

The Bridle Trail may be a very popular hike in Casper but most don't know about this all-time speed record leaderboard👀

The 3.6 mile, 1450+ ft elevation gain loop is quite the challenge for trail runners out there but who knows maybe this summer we'll see some new names make the cut👀

The Bridle is by far one of the best things about Casper. And I'm constantly reminded that these beautiful hikes (or trail runs) are largely reliant on tourism to be maintained and open for the public, which is why I'm here shouting from the cliffs that

That's one peaceful place to train🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

I'm a firm believer that your goals should scare you. And that exactly what this goal of an does to me. I've done plenty of hard fitness adventures in my life but I think this challenge comes with inherent uncertainty. The accumulation of something new (swimming😂) combined with the overall fatigue on race day is going to be uncharted territory for me.

But I'm so stoked to be in my hometown of Casper to stack the bricks and sharpen the axe. This place is full of beautiful trails, empty roads and plenty of hills to train on. Not to mention Casper has the best gym in the world to swim and strength train at. Forever grateful to be in a place like this.

Next month I'll also be using the as a testing ground to see how the body holds up over the course of 26.2 miles and practice some intra-nutrition. Couldn't be more stoked.

Many of these trails, roads, and businesses in Casper rely on our local tourism economy to stay maintained and stay open. Which is why I've said it before and I'll say it again:

just head to the mountains🏔🪵🔥

Without a doubt, one of the best parts about living here is having Casper Mountain just 15 minutes away. It's crazy how quickly I can find some solitude when life starts to get a bit too loud. There's something magic about crisp mountain air and sitting around a campfire.

I'm constantly reminded that having getaway places like this wouldn't be possible without the people and departments who maintain our campgrounds, meadows, parks, and trails. Largely, those efforts are funded from visitors and our local tourism economy. Which is why I can't stress enough that !!

Some scenes from a Wyoming adventure🤠📸

A couple weeks ago I had the privilege of working alongside the legend Anthony Stengel with Stengel Media on assignment for Visit Casper capturing those Western roots our town was built on. The crew over at C Bracket Horse Barn sure knew how to put on a show, resulting in some of my all-time favorite photographs.

A sunset ride with Casper Mountain in the backdrop is pretty unforgettable, and adventures like this are a big reason why people travel to Natrona County in the first place.

Last year alone, 835,000 overnight visitors spent $377.8 million here, which directly supported 2,890 local jobs and helps businesses like C Bracket Horse Barn thrive.
