Senior year moves faster than anybody plans for, and pictures are always the thing that slides. Between fall sports, college applications, and whatever the school wants turned in by whatever date they picked, senior pictures get pushed to next month, and then next month, until the yearbook needs a file and nobody has one.

That part is what I actually handle. We put you on a fall date, your senior shows up, and I direct the entire session so nobody is standing there frozen wondering what to do with their hands. Retouched images come back the same day, already sized for the yearbook, the announcements, and the big print your mom is going to want on the wall. One afternoon and it is off your list for good. Openings run through November, and then I am done until spring.

Senior season is the part of my year I actually look forward to, and I keep it deliberate. Fall and spring only, blocked off on purpose, because seniors deserve better than getting squeezed between two corporate shoots on a Tuesday afternoon.

I still have openings through November, and then that is it until spring. If November comes and goes on you, do not panic, spring is when I run cap and gown minis and I will be ready for you then. But if your senior wants the full session with outfit changes and real time to settle in and relax, fall is the window and it is closing.

Your headshot is four years old, you have changed jobs twice since then, and it is still the first thing that comes up when someone Googles your name. I hear some version of that almost every week from attorneys, physicians, and financial advisors who have been meaning to fix it for a year and never got around to finding a photographer.

Here is how it actually goes at the studio. You walk in, there is coffee or something cold waiting, you sit down for a minute before the camera ever comes out, and I tell you exactly what to do with your hands and your chin so you are not standing there guessing. Most sessions run under an hour and your retouched images go out the same day. Not next week. Same day, so you can update LinkedIn before you forget about it again.

The Miller's Brew Crew, y'all are the best in the business and I mean that. Every time I walk through that door it feels less like a coffee run and more like catching up with people who actually care, not just about how my day is going, but about pouring into their staff and this community as a whole. Scheduling everyone one at a time, chasing the people who keep rescheduling, ending up with headshots that don't even match. That is the usual mess.

Run a headshot day at the studio instead. Your team comes through the Raeford Rd studio in one block, everyone gets the same lighting and look, and retouched images are delivered the same day.

Sneak peek from this morning's Miller's Brew Golf Outing, and honestly, this might be my favorite day all year. This community shows up for this family every single time, and getting to be there with a camera for it never gets old.

Miller's Brew works with young adults with developmental disabilities on job training and real employment, and mornings like this are proof of how many people in Fayetteville have their back. Already looking forward to next year, and praying it's about 20 degrees cooler. Full gallery coming soon!

Had the best morning at the Chamber breakfast, surrounded by some of the most driven and genuine people in this community. Moments like this remind me why I love doing business in Fayetteville. Getting to connect with other local business owners, hear what everyone’s working on, and be reminded that we’re all building something together never gets old.

Thank you to the Greater Fayetteville Chamber for everything you do, not just for my company but for this entire community. So much of the growth Liza Hondros Creative Studios has seen over the years traces back to relationships that started right here.

A headshot has to hold up at wildly different sizes. A tiny circle next to a name on a directory page. A full page portrait in an annual report. A banner behind a podium at a conference.

A photo that looks sharp cropped tight into a small circle can fall apart blown up large, the framing too tight, the resolution not built for it.

That's not something most people think about when a photo gets taken. It's something I plan for before the shutter ever clicks, framing and resolution built to hold up whether it ends up as a thumbnail or a banner.
