Although this wolf is captive and not wildlife, I'm sharing this photo because it's important to promote the protection and restoration of the Red Wolf population.

There are only 245 red wolves in captive restoration programs. and only 20 estimated (9 confirmed&tagged) red wolves left in the wild. All 9 are located in eastern NC, and one was killed last July.

The male Muscovy duck (also called the puppy duck) is the largest duck weighing an average of 10-15lbs, with a wingspan up to 60 inches!

Their size may be intimidating, but they're actually very friendly and enjoy human company!

An adventurous female Northern Cardinal was investigating our backyard today. Although her mate frequents our feeders every day, this was the first time I've seen her get close.
