What I do - make beautiful art

06/17/2026

No, because I'm STILL thinking about this birthday party ๐Ÿ’œ

The "50 Shades of Purple" theme was beautiful, everyone was having fun, and the room was filled with so much joy. It was everything a 50th birthday celebration should be.

As I photographed the evening, I kept looking around and thinking about what 50 years really means.

A daughter. A mother. A friend. A person loved for so many different reasons by so many different people.

Everywhere I looked, there was laughter, conversation, old memories being shared, and people genuinely happy to be together. It felt like a celebration of a life that has touched so many others.

This is why I love photographing events like this.

Because one day the music stops, the decorations are gone, and the night becomes a memory, but the photographs stay. Not just as images, but as something you can feel again.

๐Ÿ“ธ Planning a special celebration? Let Tricia Toms Studio capture it for you. ๐Ÿ’œ

โœจ Don't let moments like these pass by undocumented. Give yourself and your loved ones something to look back on for years to come.

What if the best reason for a family portrait is simply that everyone is here?

As summer approaches, many families are looking forward to reunions, vacations, celebrations, and long-awaited time together.

The grandparents are visiting. The children are growing. The family dog is right where he belongs. ๐Ÿพ

And for a little while, everyone is in the same place at the same time.

It's easy to think there will always be another summer, another gathering, another chance to get everyone together. But the truth is, these seasons change quietly.

Children grow up. Families expand. Life becomes busier.

And before you realize it, the moments that once felt ordinary become the ones you miss the most. That's why extended family portraits are about so much more than taking a picture. They're about honoring the people who share your history, preserving the relationships that matter most, and creating artwork that tells your family's story for generations to come.

During an extended family session, we'll create portraits of the entire family together, as well as individual family groups, giving everyone something meaningful to remember this season by.

If your family will be gathering this summer, let's preserve this chapter while you're living it.

High School & College Seniors 2027... What part of senior year do you wish you could keep forever? โœจ

Maybe it's the sport you've dedicated years to. The activity you love. The friendships you've built. The places where you've spent countless hours becoming the person you are today.

Right now, it probably feels like these days will last forever. But one day, they'll be the memories you wish you could revisit.

That is why senior portraits matter.

Not just because you're graduating, but because this season of life deserves to be remembered. Because who you are right now is worth celebrating. Because years from now, these photographs will bring you back to a time that passed far too quickly.

Whether you're a swimmer, an athlete, an artist, a musician, or simply excited for what comes next, your senior portrait session should tell your story.

We're now booking High School & College Senior Portrait Sessions for the Class of 2027. ๐ŸŽ“

You think you'll remember them exactly as they are today. ๐Ÿค

The silly faces. The endless laughter. The way they make each other smile without even trying. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Right now, it feels like they'll always be this little. Like there will always be more time. But one day, you'll look up and realize they're growing up. The little faces you kissed goodnight have changed. The season you were living has quietly passed. โœจ

And you'll wonder how it all happened so fast. Not because you forgot. But because you never realized how quickly childhood would slip through your hands.

If there's one thing I hear from parents again and again, it's this:

"I wish I had taken more photos."

"I wish I had documented more."

"I wish I had preserved more of those years."

Because when the toys are put away, the shoes by the door get bigger, and the house becomes a little quieter, these moments become priceless.

The truth is, we never know we're in the middle of the good old days while we're living them.

Preserve this chapter while you're living it. If you've been thinking about family portraits, visit the link in bio to begin your portrait experience.

Caps, gowns, camera gear, and a lot of laughter behind the scenes while photographing the graduates, professors, and Board of Trustees at Maine College of Art & Design. ๐Ÿ“ท

One of the things I love most about photographing moments like these is watching people slowly relax into the moment. The laughter, conversations, and small in-between moments are often the parts that feel the most meaningful later on.

My role is never just to take photographs. Itโ€™s to create space for people to feel comfortable, connected, and genuinely themselves in front of the camera.

Whether working with schools, organizations, creative teams, or businesses, thoughtful imagery has the ability to tell a story while preserving the feeling behind it.

Looking for imagery that feels honest, connected, and true to the people behind it? Iโ€™d love to hear more about your story. Link in bio.

Some moments carry years within them. ๐ŸŽ“

Graduation is never only about one day. It reflects the work, growth, creativity, challenges, and relationships that quietly shaped the journey leading here.

For the past 7 years, Iโ€™ve had the opportunity to photograph Maine College of Art & Design and document the people, stories, and moments that make this season so meaningful each year. Every class, every community, and every gathering brings its own story.

What continues to stay with me is the reminder that photographs often become more meaningful with time. They hold the people, relationships, and moments we one day wish we could revisit. ๐Ÿค

If your school, organization, or community has a story you want to preserve and share, I would love to hear more about it. Link in bio.
