A Buzzards Bay sunrise.

The ocean is stirring, the forsythia is waking up, and the sun stays longer now. We’re so close.

An image from March 2015 that’s as apt today. Per Michael: “The last vestige of ice from this never-ending winter rests on the beach overlooking Buzzards Bay.”

Michael LOVED the snow. With tomorrow's nor'easter on its way, what better photo to post than this one?

Michael passed away four years ago on January 22, 2022.

Those first days and months of grief, and its cacophony of feelings, seemed like they would break us. If you're early on in this journey of switchbacks and setbacks, be assured that time does indeed work to temper your heart. We still grieve, of course, but in a way our everyday lives can better handle (and now with a lot more laughter).

We've mentioned this before, and it's worth mentioning again, as it was one of Michael's favorite passages from the Bible. There's a story about Jesus calming the seas during a violent storm, and His disciples marveling at His miracle, to the point where they ask: “Who can this be, that even the winds and the seas obey Him?”

We can confidently say that Jesus has, does, and will calm the storms of our hearts.

🖼️ November's Photo Selection 🖼️

November, 2016. Michael’s log:

“A recent sunset shoot out on Mid-Cape. I have rubber fishing boots that I use when traversing through marsh and muck. This evening was no different. I got stuck a few times and with some difficulty, was able to pull myself free. I did, however, take note of the tide line to see if I would be underwater if I couldn't free myself. It would've been close! Ahh, Cape Cod life.”

🖼️ October's Photo Selection 🖼️

A digital painting of Grey’s Beach, circa five years ago. According to Michael, he couldn’t wait any longer for autumn colors to make their grand entrance on the Cape, so he created his own.

🖼️ September's Photo Selection 🖼️

Just as fall leaves reveal their hidden colors, this image of rust testifies that even in decay, the divine can shine through. Beauty is everywhere, exactly as Michael believed and captured. Happy Autumn!

🖼️ August's Photo Selection 🖼️

We can feel it. Summer’s heat is softening into the cooler, concentrated colors of the Cape’s actual best season (There, we said it). Thankful for what already feels like a gentler pace post-Road Race.

This digital art piece captures Quissett at summer’s close, circa 2014.
