It was a Kodak Instamatic 44 that took size 126 cartridge film and had a cube flash. I reveled in taking photos of family, friends, the neighborhood, and pets. Film, flash cubes, and processing were expensive though, so every roll of film I shot was a treasured luxury. I purchased my first "real" (35mm SLR) camera in 1987 in preparation for an extended solo trek through Thailand. I stocked up on K
odachrome slide film and was fortunate enough to have some of my photos published in three consecutive edutions of an award-winning guidebook on Thailand. It wasn't until two years later that I took a photography class while I was working at Harvard University, and I've been hooked ever since. I have photographed the weddings of all four of my sisters as well as a couple of other family members and friends, and I made the full transition to digital photography in 2007. Throughout the years, I have donated my photography services to several nonprofit organizatoins; I even had the opportunity to serve as the event photographer for a visit by the Dalai Lama in Seattle in the early 1990s. Having served as the unofficial photographer for my daughter's dance studio over the past few years, I decided to take on this niche market in a more serious capacity in 2012, and I now offer individual and group services on Cape Cod and beyond.
