AAIC Visual Perceptions - Enjoyed a wonderful evening learning about the history of "Elysburtonaniels" (That's Elysville, Alberton, Daniels) at the Fifth Annual Charles L. Wagandt II Memorial Lecture presented by Lisa Jensen, Michelle Carras and the Patapsco Valley Heritage Area at the Gary Memorial United Methodist Church. We were all saddened to hear that the church will be closing its doors forever this Fall, as membership has fallen and they are unable to meet the financial demands involved in keeping it open. So ends the last connection to a once thriving mill town. 🙁

I purposely left my camera at home because I wanted to chill out and enjoy the lecture, and as usual, the God's of Light and Color had me working my old iphone13 hard to capture the beautiful scenes in front of me! 🤣 Have a great day!

AAIC Visual Perceptions - I've been itching to grab a shot of a passing train with the station lights on just to tell my story, and yesterday the opportunity presented itself!

One can't help but imagine the days when the romance of traveling by train was in its heyday - a quiet summer evening not much different than this one, a well dressed couple waiting under one of those beams of light - the glow of a cigarette being lit, the still of the evening interrupted by the whistle of an approaching steam engine. The creak of steel as it trundles over the Oliver Viaduct, the gold painted letters spelling "Baltimore & Ohio"written on the tender drifts past their eyes as the scent of burning coal and hot steam permeates the air, With a squeal of the brakes, the train comes to a stop, the glare from its headlight illuminating the way to Baltimore....are they out for an evening on the town? maybe he's a soldier off to war? or is it a once in a lifetime exotic trip to some far off place? - Funny what taking a photo can do.

It's Wednesday! and that's Wonderful! 🌥️⛈️🌥️⛈️🌥️
