Continuing with shoots that highlighted great client stories, this series is from a shoot with SCL Health (now ). I was shooting alongside another film crew that was documenting how SCL Health was helping people struggling with housing insecurity. There were some really heart touching moments captured that day (even if it was an actor playing a fictional character).

Recently I had the opportunity to work with to create some imagery based around real, raw, and authentic moments. They had just opened up their new location in Wash Park to continue their mission of creating employment, mentorship, and a path toward barber licensing for people rebuilding their lives.

This shoot was also a reminder that production value is not purely a function of scale. With a clear visual direction and a nimble production footprint, it was possible to create work that still feels elevated, cinematic, and true to the environment it came from.

R&R Head Labs is doing meaningful work in their community and I’m grateful to have been invited to help tell a small piece of that story.

Really loved how the color palette came together for this portrait shoot with .and.rose for .
Always fun exploring ways to get creative with in camera image distortions. For these portraits I was utilizing some flowers right up close to the lens to add some depth and color.

The latest newsletter (emailer and linkedin) talks about how a trip to Santa Fe over NYE with , or rather the edit of images following, helped spark a reset. A rekindling of creative fire that was dying to return. For many years I have restrained from showing any images (“work”) that didn’t have some sort of client or perspective client attached to it.
You can read more about this story and see the full image edit on the ghost stories page of my website.

Moving forward I’ll be mixing more of these images into what I show, what I present to the world as indication of me.

These images represent a recentering to self. A reconnection to seeing. And I also just like them. Maybe you will too.
