My trip to Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda yesterday was filled with great fall color, not to mention plenty of finches, dark-eyed juncos, eastern bluebirds, red-bellied woodpeckers and white-crowned sparrows....take a look :)

I've been spending lots of time at the local forest preserves since being back from Door County. Who can sit still when the weather's been so nice and the fall colors are peaking! Here are a few shots from Deer Grove East Forest Preserve in Palatine and Captain Daniel Wright Woods in Mettawa. Enjoy :)
