Today, I want to wish all of you a Happy Mother's Day, and to share with you a little bit about my journey. I'll be sharing more in the coming days, as I prepare to announce something exciting!

Motherhood. The most transformative, selfless, exhausting, rewarding job you'll ever have.
I have always wanted to be a mother. When I was pregnant with my first, I was so excited about the adventure that was to come. I loved every second of being pregnant. Then at around 29-30 weeks, I developed pre-eclampsia and was admitted to the hospital for 2+ weeks as they pumped me full of steroids to help develop my baby's lungs, because she was inevitably going to make an early arrival. At 32 weeks, they induced labor. When the contractions finally came, they came hard and fast. Her premature little heart couldn't handle the stress, and I saw the fear on the doctor's face as he said, "we need to get her out now!" I've never felt such a strong sense of urgency as I did in that moment. After an emergency c-section, she was placed in the NICU. And I had to wait 48 hours to even meet her.
Motherhood has always been a whirlwind of emotions. I don't think that will ever change.
She's 15 now--healthy, smart, beautiful, and strong-willed. And she has two younger sisters. I am so grateful, so blessed, to have three beautiful daughters. They teach me so much about life, every single day. I am a better person because I am their mother.
๐A special thank you to all the mamas who have trusted me to photograph the memorable moments of your own journey through motherhood. I am so honored to do this work, and forever grateful for the opportunity. Enjoy your special day!๐
