Mini session season is officially upon us, and if you’ve been around here for a while, you know I like to consider myself the queen of minis.
I offer a LOT of mini sessions throughout the year, and I do so very intentionally.
As a mama of four little ones, I know firsthand that sometimes ten minutes is all your family needs (or can handle). Sometimes a full session just isn’t in the budget. And sometimes you simply want a few updated photos for your walls, your Christmas card, or just to remember this season of life.
And I think there is so much value in that.
I know when you book a mini session, you’re hoping for that photo where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling. And trust me, I want that for you, too!
But can I tell you something about my heart as a photographer?
My goal for every single mini session is to capture at least one moment.
Not just a pretty picture, but something that feels like you. The way your little one wraps their arms around your neck. The way your babies laugh when you pull them close. The way you look at your children when you don’t even realize I’m taking the picture.
Because those are the things I never want you to forget.
As a photographer, I love telling the whole story. But as a mom, I understand that sometimes ten minutes is simply what works best for your family. And I don’t believe that means we have to sacrifice the heart behind the photographs.
So yes, we will work for those smiling, everyone-looking-at-the-camera photos. But somewhere in those ten minutes, I hope to give you something a little more, too.
A moment you didn’t even realize you would want to remember.
Whether I have ten minutes with your family or an entire hour, my heart remains the same: to give you photographs that will mean even more to you years from now than they do today. 🤍
