I get asked all the time about fun things to do in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Pensacola, so I figured it was time to put together a list of my absolute favorite activities! Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, or something fun for a rainy day, there’s something for everyone.
Of course, you could always book a beach photo session with me (because what’s a vacation without some gorgeous photos to remember it by? 😝), but if you’re looking for other ways to fill your trip with fun, here’s a list of my top recommendations!
⸻
Gulf Shores, AL
• Parasailing with Ike’s – If you’ve never been parasailing, this is the place to do it! The views of the coastline are stunning, and the feeling of floating above the Gulf is unforgettable. They take safety seriously, so even first-timers will feel comfortable.
• The Factory Trampoline Park – This place is great for kids (and adults who want to act like kids). Wall-to-wall trampolines, foam pits, dodgeball, and even a ninja course. Perfect for burning off some energy or escaping the heat. Also a great rainy-day option!
• Gulf State Park – If you love the outdoors, this is a must. Walk or bike along scenic trails, fish off the massive pier, or just take in the beauty of the Gulf Coast. They even have a nature center with cool exhibits about local wildlife.
• Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo – A small but amazing zoo with up-close animal encounters! You can feed a giraffe, hold a sloth, or play with baby kangaroos.
• Waterville USA – Water park fun with slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. There’s also a go-kart track and mini-golf if you want to stay dry.
• Gulf Shores Museum – A hidden gem with exhibits on local history and hurricanes that have shaped the area. Free admission! Great for a rainy day.

Orange Beach, AL
• Dolphin Cruise – Nothing beats watching dolphins play in the wake of a boat! This cruise is affordable and pretty much a guaranteed way to see dolphins up close. Great for families, couples, or just a relaxing time on the water.
• Chute ‘Em Up Parasail – If you’re looking for a thrill, this is it! Soar high above the Gulf and take in the incredible views of Orange Beach and beyond. It’s peaceful up there, and you might even spot some sea turtles or dolphins below.
• Flora-Bama Lounge & Oyster Bar – A legendary beachfront bar with live music, great food, and a fun, laid-back vibe. Famous for its Bushwackers (a must-try frozen drink).
• The Wharf – A great spot for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Ride the giant Ferris wheel, catch a live concert, or take a sunset cruise from the marina.
• Breakout Games – This escape room is perfect for a rainy day or a fun challenge. Choose from different themed rooms and see if you can solve the puzzles before time runs out!
• Coastal Arts Center – A beautiful art gallery showcasing local artists, plus a pottery and glass-blowing studio where you can create your own piece of art. Another great rainy-day activity!
⸻
Pensacola, FL
• Fort Pickens – If you love history, this is a must-see. It’s an old military fort with tunnels to explore, huge cannons, and amazing views of the water. Plus, it’s just a cool place to walk around and take photos.
• Pensacola Beach Boardwalk – A fun place to shop, eat, and relax by the water. You’ll find everything from souvenir shops to ice cream stands, plus great restaurants with Gulf views.
• National Naval Aviation Museum – One of the best aviation museums in the country, featuring historic aircraft, flight simulators, and even a chance to watch the Blue Angels practice! Awesome for a rainy day, and it’s free!

⸻
Dauphin Island, AL
• Mobile Bay Ferry to Dauphin Island – A fun little adventure! Load up your car (or just hop on as a passenger) and enjoy a short ferry ride across Mobile Bay. Once you get to Dauphin Island, you can explore the beach, visit the Sea Lab, or grab some fresh seafood.
• Dauphin Island Sea Lab & Estuarium – A small but fascinating marine science center where you can learn about the local ecosystem and see sea creatures up close. Great for a rainy day!
