For a while now, I’ve been quietly working toward something bigger.

What started with a camera and a love for photography has continued to grow — into videography, content creation, and graphic design.

I’m excited to start bringing all of these pieces together and see where this next chapter takes me.

There’s still plenty to learn, plenty to create, and plenty of room to grow — but that’s honestly what makes it exciting.

So whether it’s capturing a moment, telling a story through video, or bringing an idea to life through design… I’m ready.

Going from photography to videography has been an interesting transition.

With photography, you’re looking for the moment. With video, you’re thinking about what happens before, during, and after that moment.

And honestly? A lot of the skills you learn as a photographer carry over.

What advice would you give a newer videographer? What gear use, software, accessories?

Still learning myself, but I’m having a lot of fun making the transition.

I got called out at a youth sporting event recently—and surprisingly, it had nothing to do with where I was standing or how I was1 shooting.

I got called out for how I carry my gear.

I don’t use a $300 camera backpack or a roller case. I use a roughly $30 bag from Buc-ee’s. 😂

Some photographers might think that means I don’t care about my gear. But most of my equipment is pushing 20 years old. It was built to be used—and I take care of it without treating it like a museum piece.

The biggest reason I use this bag?

I want my gear with me.

My traditional camera backpack is great, but it’s big and bulky. At smaller events, I’d rather have a small bag on my back that I can take with me as I move around.

So I keep it simple:
Small bag. Minimal gear. Everything stays with me.

Do I carry as much as some photographers? Nope.

I carry what I need to get the job done—and this setup works for me.

Could there be a better bag? Absolutely.

Until I find it, the cheap bag stays

Spent some time back in Iowa and was able to capture a youth baseball game. It wasn't my first game, but got me thinking of a few things:

Youth baseball photography is all about preparation and anticipation. The game moves fast, and if you’re waiting to react, you’ve already missed the shot. Learn the game, read the moments, and anticipate where the action is headed.

Be ready for everything — shifting sunlight, tough weather, even dust flying everywhere. Protect yourself, protect your gear, and adapt on the fly.

But don’t just capture the play — capture the emotion. The celebrations, the reactions, the intensity, and the moments in between tell the real story.

These are the moments that prepare you for the big show.

Want clients to keep calling you back for future events? It's more than just taking great photos... trust me on that one.

Here are the 3 things that actually make photographers re-bookable:

1️⃣ Be easy to work with
Show up early, communicate clearly, and stay flexible. Professionalism gets remembered.

2️⃣ Deliver fast & professionally
Quick turnaround + organized galleries = trust. Reliability wins every time.

3️⃣ Capture what matters to THEM
Don’t just take cool or pretty shots. Understand the client’s goals and deliver the moments they need most.

Master these 3 things, and you’ll spend less time chasing clients… and more time getting called back.
