🦋🦋A Tribute to Dolly Parton 🦋🦋
There are people who come into our lives, and then there are people who become a part of who we are. For me, that person has always been Dolly Parton.
Dolly meant—and still means—the world to me. She was never just a singer, songwriter, actress, or entertainer in my eyes. She was a light. A voice of kindness. A woman who showed the world that you can come from humble beginnings, work hard, dream big, and still remain true to yourself.
So much of who I am today was shaped by the example Dolly gave me. She taught me that being kind is never a weakness, that you can be strong without losing your softness, and that success means very little if you don't use it to lift other people up. She taught me to never be ashamed of where I came from and to always have the courage to be exactly who I am.
Her music has been there through so many chapters of my life. Through the good days, the hard days, the moments when I needed encouragement, and the moments when I simply needed a song that understood what my heart couldn't put into words.
But perhaps the greatest gift Dolly ever gave me wasn't a song. It was the example of the woman she chose to be.
She showed me that you can be beautifully imperfect. You can be feminine and strong. You can dream bigger than the circumstances you were born into. You can make something of yourself without stepping on anyone else to get there. And no matter how far you go, you can always reach back and help someone else along the way.
She showed me how to stand in my faith and how to love the Lord with all your heart.
When I think about the person I am today, I can see pieces of her influence woven into me. The way I try to love people. The way I believe in kindness. The way I chase my dreams. The way I want to create something meaningful and leave a little bit of beauty behind.
Dolly Parton didn't know me, but she helped shape me.
And I don't think I'll ever be able to put into words what that means to me.
Thank you, Dolly, for the music.
Thank you for the laughter.
Thank you for the courage.
Thank you for showing generations of people how to dream.
Thank you for reminding us that where you start doesn't determine where you can go.
Most of all, thank you for being unapologetically 🦋🦋 Dolly🦋🦋
Some people leave footprints in the world.
You left an entire trail of light.
And wherever life takes me, a piece of you will always be carried with me.
