For the past week, our 8-month-old filly, Sisu, has been in the hospital. Despite being appropriately dewormed for her age, I found her last Wednesday in severe colic caused by a parasite that only affects young horses.

She has recovered from the impaction colic, but she is still battling an intestinal infection caused by the parasites. We are currently awaiting additional lab results to determine whether this is something she will fully overcome. For now, she is home on a long list of medications, resting, and being closely monitored.

If you pray, we would deeply appreciate prayers for Sisu. If you don’t, we will gladly take every healing thought and good vibe you can send her way.

This unexpected emergency has come with a significant vet bill. Because of that, I’m ramping my photography business back up this season.

While we wait for warmer weather, I’ve also created an album of some of my favorite animal and landscape photographs. If you’re looking for new artwork for your home or office, I’d love for you to take a look. I’ll continue adding new images over time.

This year was full of lots of fun photoshoots!
My favorite activity I added this year was taking photos of dogs at shelters to help them get adopted! I photographed over 200 dogs, most of them at Corsicana Animal Shelter!

I also photographed dock diving at PepperJack's Plunge, playday series and Christmas tree barrel races at CCOE Arena Ministry, and new year and paint powder shoots with Youngblood's Natural Animal Care Center & Massage.

Tumbling B Photography had the distinct pleasure of sponsoring and awarding the CCOE Arena Ministry Saddle Series Showmanship Buckle.

Showmanship/sportsmanship is in my opinion the most important/special award that you can recieve. While I admire the dedication and talent of those that win the 1-3 place prizes, having good sportsmanship and showmanship is just so special to me. While I easily could have given this award to many deserving young ladies this year, there was one in particular who stood out.

This years award went to Ame’li. This young lady reminds me of me. Her horse isn’t quite ready for playdays this season so she was utilizing S Bar C Ranch & Transport horses. I too spent most of my show career using lessons horses growing up, and usually not the best ones. Ame’li never complained, no matter who she was riding, what saddle she had to ride in, if her horse was fast, slow or a big fat bully (mine haha). She continued to improve and cut her times in half over the series. She always smiled and made sure to do what was best for the horse she was on. She made sure their needs were met before her own and cheered on the other competitors along the way. She probably handed me my water bottle/camera or held my horse more times than I can count. I so appreciated the support she gave everyone around her and for the million things I’m sure she did that I didnt see.

Thank you Ame’li for being a great role model for the young ladies growing up around you! So proud of you!
