These photos actually started with an AI-generated image.
My client came to me with the image and asked a simple question: “Can we create something like this for real?”
Challenge accepted.
AI is at the front of a lot of people’s minds right now, especially those of us who make a living creating. And some of the concerns surrounding it are legitimate. But I also think there’s another side to the conversation.
Used thoughtfully, AI can be a creative tool.
It can help us visualize an idea before we ever step into the studio. It can help a clienti ocommunicate something they can see in their head but may not have the words to describe. And sometimes, it can be the spark that pushes us to figure out how to make something tangible.
For this shoot, the AI image wasn’t the finished product. It was the starting point.
From there came the real work: building the set, arranging the foliage, shaping the light, choosing the lens, directing the model, experimenting, adjusting—and ultimately creating something of our own.
There’s something satisfying about taking an image that exists only in the digital imagination and asking:
How do we make this real?
That’s where the fun begins.
