Proof that an elegant city wedding and a genuinely joyful celebration can, in fact, coexist.

Erin + Kyle started their day with a beautiful ceremony at St. Peter’s, followed by newlywed portraits through the city and a celebration overlooking Charlotte at The Mint Museum.

There were timeless black-tie moments, calla lilies, cocktails, and most importantly, a very committed dance floor.

10/10. No notes. 🤍

The best wedding photos rarely happen when I’m asking you to smile at the camera. They happen in the walk back from portraits. In the conversations you think no one hears. In the way you look at each other when you forget anyone else is around. Those are the moments that feel like you—and they’ll be the ones you treasure most. 🤍

Scott and Meredith’s wedding day felt like one long celebration from beginning to end.

The kind where the bridesmaids can’t stop laughing while getting ready. The groom keeps sneaking glances at his bride across the room. The reception tables are overflowing with color. The dance floor stays packed. And somehow every moment feels both beautifully planned and completely effortless.

There were emotional speeches, a picture-perfect dip kiss exit from the church, a first dance that felt straight out of a movie, and enough dance floor energy to keep the party going long after sunset.

But my favorite part might have been the way Scott and Meredith looked at each other all day long. Like they were fully aware that this wasn’t just a wedding day,it was the beginning of something they’d been waiting for.

What a joy it was to document every minute of it. 🤍

A wedding day isn’t just about what happens at the center of the aisle.

It’s also about the light through the trees, the flowers in bloom, and the little details that become part of the memory.

The full story is always worth noticing.

There’s something cinematic about the way he’s looking at her. You can just tell he’s taking his own mental snapshot (à la Jim and Pam’s The Office wedding), and I knew this one was going to be a favorite of mine the moment I saw it.

Being back at this past weekend had me thinking about just how much I love this venue. Spoiler alert: it’s a lot.

The way love can soften people will always be one of my favorite things to photograph.

I think you can feel it here, that deep kind of contentment that only comes from being next to the person who feels like home. The kind of peace that quiets everything else for a minute.

When I’m able to capture an image that lets you feel the emotion, not just see it, it honestly feels like the greatest privilege. 🤍

Rachel & Jake have been together since they were teenagers, and there was something so grounding about the way they moved through the day together. No rushing. No pretending. Just fully present with each other and surrounded by people who clearly adore them.

There’s just something really special about a love story that grows up with you. Plus, The Morehead Inn was basically showing off with that spring light, the flowers were unreal, and I already miss this day a little.
