Due to the “lovely” rainy season (aka hurricane season) here in Charleston, I had to reschedule Natasha’s Mommy & Me session a few times.

However, I’m so glad we finally had our session yesterday.

After all the birthday celebrations and traveling throughout July, it felt so refreshing to be back behind the camera doing what I love most. There’s nothing quite like capturing memories that will be cherished for generations.

After our session, Natasha shared why she chose me to photograph this special moment for her and her daughters. She told me that she had watched Marciá’s video testimonial from her Mother’s Day portrait session. Hearing Marciá (Cee Mercedes ) speak so passionately about how much her children mean to her and why documenting that season of her life was so important really touched her. Natasha said it resonated deeply and reminded her that she and her daughters are each experiencing major transitions this year. She realized this was a season worth preserving, and that conversation led her to book her own Mommy & Me session.

As if that wasn’t enough to warm my heart, one of her daughters said the experience reminded her of school picture day... but BETTER! 😂📸 I absolutely loved hearing that because I want every session to feel joyful, relaxed, FUN, and memorable.

Moments like these remind me that photography is about so much more than beautiful images. It’s about preserving stories, celebrating the people we love, and creating a legacy that will be treasured long after this season has passed.

This photoshoot was not only fun and different, but also reflective.

S’estlavie S'estlavie Kaschan Bridges reminded much of myself when it comes to planning things to the “T” and having a vision for whatever it is I’m planning.

I’d say she made it quite easy going into the session because she ensured props were ready, inspo photos were sent, outfits were aligned, and she was also READY.

Once photos were delivered, these were the words shared:
