My nephew flew in from Chicago for vacation and a headshot for his LinkedIn and college & job applications. His brother came along too, officially for moral support, unofficially to give him a hard time between frames. That combination is a big part of why the session worked. He walked in a little nervous and by the time we got to this frame, he’d forgotten the camera was even there.
That’s usually how the strong ones happen. Not the pose you’re told to hold, but the moment right after you stop thinking about the pose.
When he’s not filling out applications, he’s flying planes or working on his short game. Charleston’s temporary home base for a Chicago pilot this week.
One image, three uses. That’s the standard for any headshot leaving this studio, whether it’s headed for a college application or a corner office.
