No Kings III Cary North Carolina

The people of the Cary area turned out in strong numbers to protest Trump and his supporters.
Large, enthusiastic crowds lined both sides of the street at the intersection of Kildaire Farm
Road and Maynard Road, holding creative signs, wearing colorful costumes, and radiating peaceful
energy as they rallied against the current criminal administration.

Downtown Cary Park lit up beautifully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, for the 5th Annual Under the Silver Moon Lantern Festival!

The park was filled with colorful lanterns, creativity, and joy. Every year, we’re amazed by the talent of our local craftspeople and artists who bring their imagination to light.

A huge thank-you to everyone who made this event possible — especially Primer Lantern Goddess Gowri Savoor and TOC Lantern Champion Denise Dickens.

The night came alive with music and dance by One Tribe and Bulltown Strutters, and dazzling fire performances by Caroleena's Circle of Joy.

2024 Under the Silver Moon Lantern Festival

The New Downtown Cary Park was lit up with colorful lanterns on Saturday, January 13, 2024, as the 3rd Annual Under the Silver Moon Lantern Festival took place.

The festival showcased creativity and craftsmanship, as people of all ages displayed their handmade 3D glow lanterns in various shapes and sizes. Some of the lanterns resembled balls, fish, pyramids, mushrooms, turtles, and even Star Wars ships.

The lanterns were made in classes taught by the Director and International Artist Gowri Savoor at the Cary Arts Center for weeks before the festival. Gowri guided the participants through making paper lanterns using bamboo sticks, wire, glue, and LED lights.

The festival's highlight was a parade of light through Downtown Cary Park, where the lanterns shone brightly against the dark sky. The parade was followed by a spectacular show of drumming and fire dancing by One Tribe Rhythm Drum and Fire Caroleena's Circle of Joy at the new pavilion.

The festival was a celebration of art, culture, and community, and a reminder of the beauty and joy that can be found under the silver moon.

Our 3rd Visit to the New Downtown Cary Park, but this time with a little daylight. They have added a few more Firepits and Christmas decorations.

The park has everything from an amphitheater to a dog park, fountains, slides, water features, a lighted skywalk, The Bark Bar, putting green, ping-pong, foosball and so much more.
