When I asked each of my seniors to choose one word that would define their senior year, I loved hearing what they hope this final year will feel like.

Lydia chose Strength.

Senior year is filled with so many new beginnings, sad endings, big decisions, and moments that push you outside of your comfort zone.

Lydia wants to have the strength to try new things, trust herself, and step into whatever this year brings—even when it’s hard.

I love that. Because senior year isn’t about knowing exactly what comes next. Sometimes it’s simply about trusting yourself enough to take the next step.

Here’s to a senior year filled with new adventures, growing confidence, and the strength to do hard things. 🤍

When I asked each of my seniors to choose one word that would define their senior year, I loved hearing what they hope this final year will feel like.

Helena chose Courage.

She wants to push herself outside of her comfort zone and not let fear or the opinions of others keep her from trying new things or facing challenges. She wants to be brave enough to say yes to opportunities when they come her way and make the most of the memories along the way.

I love that her word is a reminder that courage doesn’t mean you aren’t nervous or unsure. It means choosing to step forward anyway.

Here’s to a senior year filled with new experiences, brave choices, and memories she’ll carry with her long after this chapter ends. 🤍

If you’ve ever wondered what being on my Senior Team actually looks like…this is it. 🤍

This past weekend, I took 10 of my 🎉2027 Senior Team🎉 seniors to Charleston for a destination shoot. We had rain, we had to pivot, and we definitely got a little wet 😂 — but we made it work, and the experience was completely worth it.

And Charleston was just ONE part of their Senior Team experience.

Since January, these seniors have already:

✨ Met each other at our team kickoff
✨ Had their team announcement photos
✨ Split into two different beach trips
✨ Had team hangouts, including a pool party
✨ Traveled to Charleston
✨ Had an optional Fourth of July fun shoot
✨ Started working on our annual donation project for the Children’s Hospital
✨ Created an entire gallery of images they’ll be able to share throughout senior year
✨ Started building friendships and memories that go far beyond a photo session

And we’re just getting started.

Next up are their individual fall sessions, another group experience, a spring session, a spring mini, and then somehow…cap and gown will be here before we know it.

One of the biggest questions I get is, “Isn’t the Senior Team a huge commitment?”

Honestly? Not really.

The experience is spread out over roughly a year and a half, so we’re not together every week or even every month. Sometimes two months go by between experiences. It’s intentionally spaced out so seniors can enjoy their senior year while still having something exciting to look forward to throughout the year.

And by graduation, they have more than beautiful senior portraits.

They have a collection of experiences, memories, friendships and images that tell the story of their senior year. ❤️

Want to see what our Charleston weekend looked like behind the scenes? Head over to my Instagram — I’ve shared four posts from the trip featuring the different locations and experiences we packed into the weekend!

And if you have a Class of 2028 senior, put October 1 on your calendar. That’s when applications for my 2028 Senior Team open!

If you have a Class of 2027 senior who still needs her senior portraits, I also have a few November dates remaining. 🤍

✨ Something NEW is here… and I’m so excited to finally share it! ✨

For a long time, I’ve believed that being a great photographer is about so much more than taking beautiful pictures.

It’s about planning with intention, creating an incredible client experience, building confidence, and knowing how to lead your clients through the entire process.

That belief is what inspired me to create Beyond the Camera—a new photography education space where I’ll be sharing the things I’ve learned throughout my journey as a photographer and business owner.

And today, I officially launched the first two resources! 🎉

📋 The FREE Session Prep Checklist
A quick, practical resource to help photographers get organized and prepared before every session.

📖 The Session Planning Guide
A 107-page, 14-chapter guide filled with practical strategies, reflection questions, and action steps designed to help photographers create a session process that works for them—not simply copy someone else’s.

The Session Planning Guide is currently available at a special introductory price of $99.

Whether you’re a photographer looking for a little inspiration, a new photographer trying to figure out your process, or you know someone who is working on building their photography business, I’d love for you to check it out!

When I asked each of my seniors to choose one word that would define their senior year, I loved hearing the big dreams behind their answers.

Lily chose Soar.

She wants to aim high, work toward her goals, and make this a year she’ll always remember.

There’s something so fitting about the word soar for senior year. It’s the season where you start looking beyond everything you’ve known and imagining just how far you can go.

Here’s to dreaming big, working toward those goals, embracing every opportunity, and making this year unforgettable. 🤍

When I asked each of my seniors to choose one word that would define their senior year, I loved that Dakota chose a word that perfectly captures how she wants to finish this chapter.

Dakota chose Culmination.

To her, senior year represents the end of everything that has been building toward this moment—a final chapter and a grand finale.

She compared it to his favorite part of fireworks: the finale. 🎆

I love looking at senior year this way—not just as an ending, but as a celebration of everything that came before it.

Here’s to making this final year feel like the epic finale it deserves to be. 🤍

When I asked each of my seniors to choose one word that would define their senior year, I loved seeing how much meaning can be found in just one word.

Addisyn chose Purpose.

She wants to remember that God has placed her exactly where she is for a reason. She wants to live with purpose in everything she does and trust that even the situations she doesn’t understand can be part of something bigger.

I love the perspective behind that.

Senior year brings so many questions about what comes next, but there’s something comforting about trusting that every step has a purpose.

Here’s to a senior year filled with intention, faith, meaningful moments, and trusting where the next chapter leads. 🤍

When I asked each of my seniors to choose one word that would define their senior year, I knew some of their answers would make us stop and think about how quickly this season goes.

Alex chose Nostalgic.

Senior year is such a unique combination of looking forward while also looking back.

Alex wants to embrace the nostalgia that comes with reaching the final year of school while reflecting on the experiences, friendships, and memories that have shaped her along the way.

I love that she sees nostalgia as something positive—not wishing to go back, but appreciating how far she’s come.

Here’s to making new memories while appreciating all the ones that brought her here. 🤍

When I asked each of my seniors to choose one word that would define their senior year, I loved hearing what they want to be intentional about during this final year.

Fabi chose Purpose.

She wants to be intentional about how she spends this year, who she spends it with, and the opportunities she chooses to embrace.

Because there’s only one senior year.

After our second beach trip together, I’m reminded how quickly these moments go by. The friendships, adventures, laughs, and memories are exactly what this season is about.

Here’s to being intentional, embracing every opportunity, and making this year count. 🤍

When I asked each of my seniors to choose one word that would define their senior year, I knew some answers would perfectly capture their personalities.

Charlie chose Driven.

For Charlie, senior year is about giving everything he has to the things he goes after.

Whether it’s getting better at volleyball, stronger in the gym, or learning new things at school, he wants to work hard, stay focused, and give his all.

I love that his word is about effort and determination—not perfection.

Here’s to staying locked in, chasing big goals, and giving this final year everything he’s got. 🤍
