🦋 A little sunshine, a whole lot of butterflies! ☀️🌿

Visited the Natural Bridges Monarch Sanctuary today and was so excited to see so many monarchs! It was wonderful to enjoy the sunshine and watch these beautiful butterflies gathering together. 💛

🦋 650 and counting… with many more still to come!

Nature has a way of making an ordinary day feel pretty special. 🌞🍃

Wandering through the charming little alleys, hidden passageways, tucked-away courtyards, and winding stairways. Up, down, around, and in and out of all the little nooks and crannies. You never know what hidden gem you’ll discover around the next corner! ✨🏡

Sometimes getting lost is the best way to find the magic of Carmel. 🌸

🦋 The butterflies are returning to the Monterey Bay! 🦋

One of nature’s most beautiful little wonders is making its seasonal return to the Monterey and Santa Cruz coast! 🍂🌿

As the weather cools, monarch butterflies begin gathering along our coastline, seeking shelter among the trees for the winter months. Watching these delicate orange-and-black beauties flutter through the sunlight is a magical reminder of the incredible natural world right here in our own backyard. 🧡

📍 A few places to look for them:
🦋 Monarch Grove Sanctuary, Pacific Grove — a special place to witness monarchs gathering in the coastal trees.
🦋 Natural Bridges State Beach, Santa Cruz — a beautiful coastal park known for its overwintering monarch butterflies.

If you’re lucky, you may spot clusters of butterflies resting together in the trees or see them taking flight on a sunny day. Remember to observe quietly and give them plenty of space.

There’s something truly special about these tiny travelers returning to our California coast year after year. If you’re in the Monterey Bay area, it’s a lovely time to get outside, slow down, and enjoy one of nature’s most beautiful seasonal displays. 🦋🌊

🌊 A little adventure in our own backyard! Kayaking Elkhorn Slough, electric boat tours, the historic Western Flyer, beach walks, whale watching, and sea lions taking over the harbor! 🦦🦭 Finished the day with clam chowder at Woodward Marine Market. 🥣❤️ Moss Landing never disappoints!

As the sun sets along 17-Mile Drive, the Ghost Tree reveals its secrets… 👻🌅

Look closely. Do you see them? Faces hidden in the twisted branches, watching silently as the light fades over the Pacific.

Nature has a mysterious side, and on this eerie evening, the Ghost Tree seemed to come alive.

Sometimes the most beautiful places hold the most haunting secrets. 🌊🌲
