Adventure found at Garrapata! 🥾🌊📸

With Big Sur hiking still limited because of the fires, we decided to explore somewhere a little closer to home—and Garrapata State Park did not disappoint!

We checked out the new overlooks at Gates 1 & 2, followed the trails, and discovered some absolutely spectacular coastal views stretching across Monterey Bay.

Cliffs, ocean, trails, fresh air, and plenty of places to stop and soak it all in. 🌿

If you’re missing your Big Sur adventures, put Garrapata on your list! It’s a beautiful reminder that there’s still plenty of wild coastline to explore right here in our own backyard. 💙

And of course, I brought my camera… because how could I not? 📸

Missing Big Sur this fall. 💔🌲 My heart aches knowing the fires are still burning through this beautiful place. Praying for Big Sur, its people and wildlife, and for healing to come soon. 🙏❤️

So grateful for these memories and hopeful for the day I can return. 🌊🌿

🎨📸 Art is all about seeing the moment.

Walking along Carmel Beach, I watched artists choose different scenes to paint and realized photography is much the same: we each pause for the view that catches our eye.

A painter has a canvas; I have a camera. We’re both capturing the moments that make us stop and say, “That’s the view I want to remember.” ❤️

🌅 Chasing the Sunset

I ran to the beach just in time for sunset at Fort Ord State Beach. The sun was slipping toward the horizon, and apparently I wasn’t the only one drawn to the magic—there were plenty of other sunset lovers there too. ❤️

Sometimes you just have to stop what you’re doing, head to the beach, and enjoy the view. 🌊☀️

A little sunset therapy never hurts. ✨

Saturday shopping… Moss Landing style! 🥬🦦🦭📸

I headed out to pick up some fresh produce for the weekend, with a little stop in Moss Landing along the way to check out the wildlife.

Well… that “little stop” turned into quite the adventure! 😂

The sea lions were taking over the harbor—and even hanging out right by the road like they owned the place. And the otters were everywhere! 🦦❤️

I went out to do my Saturday shopping and ended up with a whole lot of wildlife watching and photography instead.

Carmel Beach from a different perspective. 🌊⛳️

Looking up from the sand, the Pebble Beach golf course takes on a whole new kind of beauty—green fairways above, blue Pacific below, and that unmistakable Carmel coastline in between.

But now I have to ask…

Which view is prettier?
🌊 The view from the golf course looking out over the ocean?
⛳️ Or the view from Carmel Beach looking up at the course?

I’m having a hard time choosing. ❤️

A day at The Hay at Pebble Beach—where the ocean views are as distracting as the golf! 😍

Beautiful fairways, cypress trees, coastal views, and a few swings along the way. This is definitely one of those courses where you find yourself stopping to take it all in… and, of course, taking a LOT of pictures. 📸

Golf, gorgeous scenery, and a little California magic. What more could you ask for? 💙⛳️ Avallone
