DON'T DRIFT!
Hebrews 2:1–4 sounds an urgent warning to every person who has heard the good news of Jesus Christ:

“Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.”

Drifting doesn't usually happen all at once. A boat doesn't have to turn around and head in the opposite direction to become dangerously far from shore. Sometimes it simply stops holding its course.

The same can happen spiritually.

We can become distracted.

We can become careless.

We can neglect the salvation God has so graciously provided.

And Hebrews asks the sobering question:
“How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?”

God has not left us without witness. He has spoken through His Son, confirmed His message, and given testimony through His mighty works and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

So today, let's pay attention, hold fast, and refuse to drift.
You don't have to turn away to drift away.

Gleanings From Our Study Of Paul's Epistles (From Galatians to 2 Timothy)

I am having some bittersweet moments right now. I'm very excited that (with this installment) we will complete the entire series in the study of Paul's epistles. On the other hand, I have dearly loved studying about the Apostle Paul. I've enjoyed watching him mature in his writing to the churches and later to the leaders of the churches. That said, once we finish up this Bible Study, we will come back next week with our first study of Hebrews.
