🌟 Quality care (in this case healthcare) is an action, not a policy. 🌟
➡️CARE is the act of caring and being cared for (listening, understanding, empathy, patience, and compassion).

➡️Quality healthcare happens when we feel a genuine connection and trust in the people in charge of our care.

⭐️ I want to give a big shout out of gratitude and appreciation to literally EVERYONE at for the incredible care they provided to me and my baby. They bring the WOW factor to quality healthcare for women.

⭐️ In this this picture, the beautiful woman next to me, Dr. Nellin, was my OBGYN and my C-Section surgeon. I can honestly say I had a blast with her and her all women surgical team during my C-Section. Who the heck has a blast during surgery?! This momma did.
⭐️ I also learned I had great core muscles during the procedure 😆.

➡️If you’re a woman in the Madison area and need a great healthcare team, search no further and come on over to ! Tell them Portia says hi 👋🏼

This year’s WI Real Estate Alumni Association Biennial Conference happened to fall on Baby Olive’s 3-month birthday. It was incredible to have spent the entire 9 hours having her with me at the conference that day.

I’m so grateful to have such a supportive network and such a well behaved “Boss Baby.” Because of such tremendous support, I was able to show up professionally and maternally.

Let’s continue to normalize and support working parents. Nanny’s and daycares aren’t always an option.

🌟 The “iPoo” series!
After last weekend’s “Poop-gate” fiasco, it was quite fitting (literally and figuratively) for Baby Olive to don this now retro, one of a kind “iPoo” onesie I designed back in 2007.
(with the incredible help/ artwork by the very talented ).

It’s a handmade silk print graphic on organic cotton.

🌟 The OxG! Idea: The baby onesie collection was part of a larger creative art project inspired by the birth of my son . The project was called “Ollie-by-Gollie!”
🌟 It focused around two baby characters, Oliver and his twin sister, Olive. The onesie collection played on a baby’s perspective of current pop culture. The onesies were all American Apparel branded, a now extinct fashion brand, making this collection that much more special and unique.
🌟 The pieces capture precious moments in time: first time motherhood, creativity that was inspired by my devotion and amazement of my son, the manifestation of my newborn daughter 17 years later, and the pop culture that was relevant in my 20s. In this instance, Apple had just launched its iPod and used silhouetted dancers in its commercials.
🌟 It’s incredible to experience this emotional connection of my past self with my future/ present self. Art and fashion is powerful in this respect - bridging our past lives into the present. Never stop creating. You never know where an idea may lead you ❤️
