Every senior guy asks me some version of the same question. (Usually not out loud.)
"What am I supposed to do with my hands?"
Here's the answer: nothing. You don't have to figure that out. That's my job.
I'm not going to ask you to model. I'm going to say "walk toward me" and "lean on that" and "tell me about your season," and somewhere in there you'll stop thinking about the camera. Keep the outfit simple, layers and solid colors, nothing that yells louder than you do. Pick a spot that actually fits you.
And yes, the first five minutes are weird. For everybody. And then.... it's fine.
The last tip is the one I (really) care about. These photos aren't just for your mom (although she will cry, and she's earned it). This is who you were at seventeen. Your build, your hair, that grin you make when you think I'm paying attention. You will want that later, I promise.

Class of 2027, let's get you on the calendar.
PS: Moms, you can forward this to him. He'll say "ok." That's a yes.
