This week's Local Business Spotlight features John Klose, a local realtor who truly gets it.

John makes a point to update his headshot every couple of years so his clients always recognize him when they walk through the door. That kind of intentionality says a lot about how he approaches his work and his relationships.

Head to the blog to read his full interview and learn more about the business he's built.

What you see: scaffolding and chain link.
What I see: texture, depth, and a killer light angle.

Great photos aren't about the perfect location, they're about knowing how to work any location.

Got new staff? Dreading getting the whole team back together for yet another group photo? Don't sweat it! I offer the Evergreen Team Photo where only the new guy (or gal) comes in for a headshot and - next thing you know - the group photo is updated too!

Make the new people who join your company feel like they belong - even in the group photo.

Let's talk about how this can work for you and your company the way it worked for Chloe and her new coworkers at The Water Doctors.

Randy and Andrea came in for headshots together: a sweet couple who share a commercial real estate firm and also run their own separate companies. That meant a few different looks and a lot to coordinate before I ever picked up my camera.

That's exactly why I always start with a gameplan conversation. We talk through who you are, what you need the photos for, and how to make sure every shot works as hard as you do. The results speak for themselves. 😊

Welcome to the MHC family, Randy and Andrea — it was so great working with you both!

Cell phone video tip: use your torso as a tripod. Hold your biceps to your torso so your arms won't get as tired and you'll have a steady recording!

A little crossover content because... look at this. 😍

The Stories Framed Photography side of my business captured Nolan (Tosa East, Class of 2026) in the most perfect fall session — and this behind-the-scenes vs. final image comparison says everything about why COLOR matters. Whether it's a senior portrait or a professional headshot, the difference between a snapshot and a polished, color-accurate image is everything.

PS. If your rising high school senior needs portraits this summer - let's talk! It's time to book those Class of 2027 senior photos!

Realtors, this one's for you.

Your headshot is working harder than you think - it's on your listings, business cards, social profiles, your email signature. Here are three ways to make sure it's working FOR you:

1 - Keep it current. Your headshot should look like you do TODAY, not you from five (or more?) years ago. When a client walks in and recognizes you instantly, that's trust before you even shake hands.

2 - Dress like you're meeting your best client. Whatever you'd wear to impress, wear that for your headshot session. Your headshot sets the tone for every first impression.

3 - Smile like you mean it. Approachability sells in real estate. Your headshot is often the first gut-check a potential client has so make sure it says "I'm someone you can trust."

Realtor John Klose has this down. He comes back every couple of years, stays current, and makes sure his clients always know exactly who they're walking in to meet. Be like John.

One session, multiple looks.

When Ryan came in, he needed a clean white background shot for work, but we didn't stop there. A couple of background swaps later and he walked out with options for LinkedIn, personal branding, or wherever life takes him next. Same guy, same outfit, totally different feel.

That's the beauty of a well-planned headshot session: you walk away with more than just one photo. You walk away with a whole toolkit.

Smile! The doctors from Oral Surgery Associates have shiny new headshots!

It was such a fun session with this team - individual headshots plus a group shot that shows off exactly who they are. Polished, professional, and ready to put their best face forward (pun absolutely intended).

If your team is overdue for an update, let's make it happen.
