Made a quick trip up to Western North Carolina to catch some of the Rhododendron bloom. We've never been there during the bloom and it was beautiful! The low clouds filled the valley below us, while the early evening sun was poking through the high clouds. It was so pretty!

I'm really excited!! I sent off my book to get published yesterday! Here is the cover of the book. It's named after Jesica and I's brand we started to represent our love of the woods. It has around 120 of my best images over the last decade. I lot of love and passion went into this book and I'm pretty proud of it. I can't wait to share it with you. It will take a few months probably to get to my doorstep. It has no page numbers and very little text. I didn't even add the name to the image in the front part of the book. I want there to be a game inside the book if you want to play along. I want you to give the photos that capture you a name and in the back of the book I have a thumbnail with the name of the image so you can see if we kinda see it the same. If art hits us right it does cause an emotional reaction. That's the part I try to photograph. I'm a very low volume shooter. I can't pull the trigger if I don't have some kind of reaction to what's in front of me. Even if it's pretty.

Mixed a little pleasure with business today! We were up around the Smokies and came across this beauty. The light was actually fairly nice even though it was middle of the day. I had to use a ND filter to slow down the water since it was so bright but I think it turned out pretty nice!

Here's an old barn surviving yet another snow storm! I love a good snowy landscape! The image really looked nice in black and white i thought.

Hey, that's us!

In the small mountain town of Blairsville, Georgia, Sunrise Grocery is known for some of the South’s most famous boiled peanuts. They are cooked slow the old-fashioned way, steaming hot, salty, and full of flavor. This roadside store has been welcoming travelers since the 1920s and has even been featured in Southern Living. Step inside and you’ll find shelves packed with mountain jams, fresh-picked apples, local honey, and handmade soaps. The walls are covered with landscape photos taken by the owner, showing scenes from the North Georgia mountains. Located just up the road from Vogel State Park and Brasstown Bald, Sunrise Grocery is a classic stop that feels rooted in Appalachian tradition and local pride.

I'm excited! I'm working on a project that I've thought about for a few years now. I've always wanted to do a landscape photography coffee table book! It's going to be a collection of some of my favorite images over the last several years. Here is an image that I've selected for it. I love the layers of mountains with the mountain island in the middle. I also love the color gradient from the cool blue tones to the warms tones of the early morning sunrise!
