The Orange Jewelweed, or Spotted Touch-Me-Not, is commonly found in moist soils along creeks, ditches, and the edges of woods. It is called "touch-me-not" because its mature seed capsules explosively open and release seeds when touched. The plant's aerial parts, including its leaves, stems, and flowers, can be harvested to make soothing salves or teas, making it an effective remedy for poison ivy!
