But have you ever been to a wedding with giant skeletons in matching outfits with the bride and groom? Where there was a flair table so that guests could adorn themselves in (handmade by the bride) headpieces or lapel pizazz? Perhaps a surprise flash mob by the local high school theatre troop? Or when they swapped flower girls and ring bearers for kids in costume handing candy out to the guests? What about a ceremony on a candle lit stage in a dark theater? Or shown up and the reception band been the iconic lcd soundsystem cover band, l*d clownsystem? Yea, me neither. Until I did. I’ll never get over this one. Halloween approaching meant reliving this wedding and the most high energy reception dance party… EVER.

There is something beautiful about what we choose to reveal and what we keep hidden. The quiet power of being seen without ever being fully known.

I struggle so much with posting my work. Any other creatives out there who just never really have been able to play this social media game?

Elopements by EjR is about to take on a life of its own. I’ve been so inspired by the couples I’ve had choose me for their intimate ceremony! If you know of anyone eloping, send them my way!

Once upon a time I was a 20 something with a little Nikon point and shoot that I loved taking out so I could have sweet pics for my MySpace page. My bff Alice Allen Williams stayed in my top 8. And not only was I lucky enough to be her friend but with that came getting to know and love her baby boy, Gavin. We were both single moms at the time and leaned on each other which meant I’d get to babysit. If you were stuck with me for any period of time at that point, we were making art, hence his little portrait below. Imagine how touched I was when Gavin reached out as a grown man wanting me to be there for his elopement.
The sentiment gets lost so often in what I do. Its so easy to get worn down by the emails, expectations and planning of perfect locations and all the moving parts that i forget why i even began. Im not the fancy photographer, and I’ll probably never sell my work as art, or shoot the famous people or make it big in music or movie stills. But I am THIS photographer. How lucky am I ?? I raised my babies and a business with the little time I had and people loved me enough to put up with whatever using me meant (typically longer wait times, no sneak peeks, sparatic communication, etc) and the gratitude I feel for the loyalty and being a lifelong passenger for some of the biggest moments in people’s lives is overwhelming. Just look at this! From holding a little sign for his mama to holding his vows being read to his wife!!!! I am beyond blessed, yall. And this is probably cringe and also not the time you’re supposed to post and blah blah blah so who knows if anyone will see my story but it was one worth telling 🙂 thank you for being here. ❤️

This is not my favorite. But! The good news is that I’ve already migrated your galleries over to pic-time. Please check your emails for a new link and welcome offer. if you have not downloaded your previous memories from PASS please do so. Pic time will be my new platform. I dislike change, but do love the interface already and am sure it will be just fine moving forward. ❤️
