Closing in on Mardi Gras week, it was fitting to pull this image back up from the archives!

Did you knows that it is estimated that New Orleans throws around 25 million pounds of beads per year?!
That number seems crazy to me, but then I remember the black eyes I’ve recieved getting pelted by beads and it feels more surreal.

For our anniversary this year, we went to Cruisin the Coast. Joey booked a room at Hotel Vela and I was absolutely amazed at the beauty. Cruisin the roads, enjoying the atmosphere and nightlife, eating great, finding amazing coffee, treasuring the friendships we have and the new ones made… it’s was a great anniversary. While these wagon wheel spokes probably would not catch the eye of most, they definitely caught mine!
These are on a wagon that was practically falling apart. I cannot imagine amount of miles this wheel had rolled over the years.

Each spoke in a wagon wheel has its place and purpose just like every life holds a unique role in keeping the world turning. ♥️

This picture hasn’t been given a name yet, even though it’s one of the very first pictures I was proud of…. It’s a good time for her to resurface from my archives since she may be lit differently in the upcoming future. Can’t wait to see how beautiful she becomes again. The GNO. The CCC. Whatever you call this bridge, I call her opportunity. It’s the bridge I crossed with a tear in my eye because if how excited I was to start my life here in Louisiana- 12 years ago.

“Wind Whisper”

I love the contrast of the clean white feathers on the Egret against the dark greens and browns of the Spanish moss and Cyprus wood. This beauty seemed a little antsy as the boat floated by yet, as the wind blew through her feathers, she seemed to calm and just enjoy the breeze.
