Happy first day of spring 🌱 2026 a time for change and new beginnings. I'm painfully reminded over the past year of how short and precious life is. How everything can change in the blink of an eye. As I welcome spring I reflect back to a time that is no longer. My beloved Toby cat crossed over the rainbow 🌈 bridge recently, and in his passing he taught me that there is so much in this life to be thankful for and never take the present for granted. Happy spring equinox day y'all!

Looking back on January's Hoarfrost, I was thrilled to catch a glimpse of a Blue Heron beginning its day with a peaceful morning fishing trip. The scenery that morning was beautiful, with the still waters of the Deschutes river in Bend, Oregon, creating a sense of calm and serenity.

Hey y'all, it's Walk in the Park Wednesday here in beautiful Bend, Oregon. Similar to many other regions, we have yet to experience snowfall in town this year, and briefly, it seemed as though we traded snow for freezing fog. As an enthusiast of weather phenomena, I took advantage of the opportunity to capture the moment with my camera and visit the park, where I am always surprised by the breathtaking scenery. For those who don't know, freezing fog, also known as Hoarfrost, is a weather phenomenon characterized by supercooled water droplets remaining in liquid form until they come into contact with surfaces below freezing, resulting in the formation of ice on those surfaces. It makes some surfaces, like branches, seem as though they have thorns on them. It is one of the most interesting weather phenomenas I've ever personally experienced.

Hey y'all, it's Mule Deer Monday and today's featured buck is one that is special to us, as we have watched him grow up in our own yard/neighborhood. We named him 2x4 because one side of his antlers has 2 spikes and the other has 4 spikes. Pretty cool genes! He is seen weekly, sometimes multiple times a week, just chilling in our yard. Sometimes we come out and walk past him and he startles us but he just keeps chillin, lol. Pretty awesome if you ask me. 🦌
