I don't think success is waking up with a million followers.

I think it's building a life where your camera goes everywhere with you because you genuinely love what you do.

Still working on the rest, but I'd say we're headed in the right direction.

Just existing together. No awkward posing. No "say cheese." Just a moment that happened to get frozen forever.

I swear the best photos are almost never the ones you're expecting.

A laugh that catches you off guard.
A place that feels like home because someone else is there.

Life has a funny way of working out.

One year you're wondering if anyone will ever take you seriously.

The next you're driving across state lines, living off gas station coffee, covered in arena dust, editing until 2 a.m., and somehow thinking, "I can't believe this is my job."

It's not glamorous all the time.
It's long drives.
Dead batteries.
Sunburns.
Rain delays.
Cold pizza.
And thousands of shutter clicks, hoping you caught the one.

I wouldn't trade any of it.

Getting down to the nitty gritty has always been the goal.

Horse shows were always the dream.

The families, couples, seniors, and small businesses that trusted me over the years are what made it a reality.

Every session booked, every wedding gallery delivered, every recommendation shared, every post liked and commented on helped build Nitty Gritty into what it is today.

Because of you, I’m spending more weekends in arenas, more time chasing the moments that made me fall in love with photography in the first place, and getting closer to the goal I’ve had from the beginning.

We’re not there yet, but we’re getting closer.

So whether you’ve been in front of my camera at a wedding, a family session, a horse show, or anywhere in between, thank you for being part of the journey.🫶🏻

Now let’s see how far we can take this thing.😎✨

Unpopular opinion: You can support other photographers and still be successful.

I know, crazy concept.

I hire other photographers all the time. Some for branding photos. Some for family photos. Some because I love their editing style. Some because I want a completely different perspective than what I’d create myself.

I’ve grabbed lunch with photographers. I’ve traveled with photographers. I’ve second shot for photographers. I’ve referred clients to photographers. I’ve had photographers refer clients to me.

And you know what happened?

Nothing.

My business didn’t fall apart. Their business didn’t fall apart. We all kept booking clients.

There are wedding photographers who send people my way. There are photographers I send people to when I’m booked, when they’re a better fit, or when they’re looking for something I don’t specialize in.

The truth is, not every client is meant for every photographer.

I think a lot of people miss out on some really great friendships and opportunities because they’re so busy watching everyone else like they’re the competition.

Some of the photographers cheering for you the loudest are the ones you’d probably consider your “competition.”

There’s room for all of us.

And honestly, I’d rather build a community than spend my time worrying about who’s booking what.

Right now, albums from Saturday's Main Stages 1-4 are available and ready to browse. The rest of the weekend's albums are currently being uploaded and will be added throughout the day.

We also rolled out new digital packages for this event, giving you more options than ever when it comes to purchasing your photos.

What a weekend it was! Fast horses, flying dirt, plenty of smoke, and some incredible runs that we're excited to share with all of you. We're incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be part of this event and capture these moments for such an awesome group of competitors and families.
