About a month ago I was chatting with a couple of people about the upcoming Cherry Blossom Festival in Denver, and I remarked how the cherry trees will all have lost their flowers by then. Well, my apple tree and all the other fruit trees in town are in full bloom. Now is the time if you want them in your photos. If you still have that desire, now is the time, not in June. Denver and Japan are not in the same growing seasons.

The last few days I have been photographing my photos. That really sounds weird, but I want to share these photos to my web site.

One of the things I have noticed is how much dust we have in the house. It might be because I wrap them in plastic wrap before I cover them in bubble wrap. That creates a bunch of static I am afraid. They get banged up just sitting on the shelves, but I have lost several of my big and large photos in transit to shows and galleries. My answer might come in washing each one prior to photographing them for the web site. I spent two days, more or less, photographing them. Got 37 done this round. It's going to take me forever to do this.

Next round I will get rid of the reflection of my tripod. And I think I will get my lights right next time.

In any case, my Red Woman is back from the Denver art Museum.

During the past few days I have been working on four new little's I want to display maybe in June, before I again hit the Ren Faire. Maybe this year I can get to more than one or two.

We lost internet connection the other day, and I was forced to do some work w/o it. What I did was to gather together some of my more favored photos from the years of going to the Faire, and put them on my web site. That folder already took a bump in visits. Sweet.

Applications for CPAC’s 2026 Veterans Workshop Series open today. If you’re a U.S. military veteran living in Colorado and looking for a new way to tell your story, this free, six-month program is designed with you in mind. No previous photography experience is required — just curiosity, commitment, and a desire to explore your point of view through images. Through hands-on workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and group critiques, participants chose their own subject and build a meaningful body of work/narrative shaped by their own experiences, interests, and ideas.

For many, the process also becomes a space for reflection, connection, and healing—offering another way to work through experiences that can be hard to put into words. The program concludes with a public exhibition at CPAC and a professionally published catalog featuring each participant’s work. The Veterans Workshop Series is free and open to all Colorado veterans, with a small cohort size to ensure deep mentorship and community. Applications are open beginning today, with a submission deadline of March 27, 2026 at 11:59 pm MST. The program runs June through November 2026, with the final exhibition opening at CPAC in January 2027.

The application process is super quick and simple, so register now by visiting: https://cpacphoto.org/veterans-workshop-series/

Up until I bumped into CPAC and VAC, I had mostly printed little pieces, 8x10 and smaller, or by a pro lab for my metals and canvas. But after then, everything has been bigger, like the 13x19 stuff. Now, I have a rather good sized collection of large framed prints. Just recently a gallery owner suggested more of the littles, because not everyone can afford or has space for the bigs, and the littles offer a more affordable buy in for those wanting some of my work, but lack the funds.

Okay, I have been framing littles for several shows, and just a bit ago a thought occurred to me. Please forgive me if I come across as morose, it's just a mater of fact for me, Linda is going to have a mess to clean up when I die. All these photos I've taken these last years. Stacks of boxes full of framed work, and stacks of work leaned up together. Lots of photos.

Like I said, one day I will die, and all of this work will need to be removed, more likely to the landfill. So, if you hear I died, get in touch with my wife and ask if you can have any of the work with you in it. Otherwise, you know, not many of those photos are of her, and she will have no use for them. I think she would be happy to have some help de-cluttering the basement.

Just so you know, I don't think I will be dying soon, but one can't say for sure, anything.

If you intended to take a few to look at some art, the show I am currently in at the Aurora Municipal Building ends soon. We will be, with my fellow artists in removing our work this next Monday morning.

The Municipal Center is located at: 15151 E Alameda Pkwy, Aurora, CO 80012. The show is on the second floor. Just take the elevator up to the second floor, turn to the light (West). The show runs the length of the building, it's kind of a large building.

note to self: Next time I am applying adhesive to the back of a frame, take off my fuzzy sweater. 😁
